I'm wearing a purple dress, and my hair is curly (Lori helped me get a perm) and my nails are blue-sparkly. My shoes are black. My favorite song, Thriller,is playing, and all around kids are dancing.
Toby is dressed like E.T. Suddenly, over the PA, a karaoke contest is announced. Toby yells, "You should do it! Pick her! Pick Athena!"
As shy as I am, I get picked and sing, "Dancing Queen" by Abba.
I even add some dance moves to the music. After the contest, the principal announces the winner. "And the winner is... Miss Athena Nielsen!" I happily accept my award. "See, I told you it would be good." I realize I can trust Toby. This is what it feels like to have a best friend.
