Brianna Joy wasn’t always the flutist she is today. As a toddler, Bri was always volunteering for recorder solos in her preschool. When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, Brianna answered that she wanted to be a first chair flutist. In fourth grade, Bri picked up her first flute, stroking its metal ever so delicately. She stared up into Mr. Lucas’s eyes and said confidently,”I want to play the flute.” She says her first band class was one of those life-changing moments. “When I looked around, I realized that these were the people who would change my life; make it worth living. These people share my passion for music.” She gazed upon the crowd of her fellow band geeks. Then, she began warming up. As Bri progressed through Elementary School, she experienced so many opportunities like the Band Tour that she would remember forever. Bri stole the show becoming the most accomplished flutist in her section. *Cue Living in the Hall of Fame* Bri continues to play her heart out when she’s on stage. She says, “You never know what performance may be your last.”
