I awoke in a car, heading god knows where and a killer headache. I groaned softly gaining Buckys attention. He reached his left arm over to grab my hands. "Hey." My voice hoarse probably from the lack of water. "How long was I out." He frowned in thought

"About 12 hours." My eyes widened but I nodded nonetheless "Where are we going?" I asked rubbing my eyes with my free hand he shrugged in response.

"What happened?" He asked in a hushed whisper

"Hydra, they found me when I was walking to go to the shop." He frowned

"I'm sorry." My eyes snapped to look at him, his hair fell into his face. The skin on his face etched into wrinkles that surrounded his frown.

"Why are you sorry?" I asked

"Because they wouldn't be looking for you if it was for me, it's my fault." I rolled my eyes at the confession

"It's not your fault, it's hydras. It's not your fault." I insisted, we sat in silence. "How about we stop somewhere, then make a drive to Kansas?" He once more shrugged. We pulled up to a small motel a little while later. It was empty and dirty but it worked for a night. I opened the door. Hissing as I realised my side was in more pain than I thought. Pulling up my shirt to see large bruises that covered my stomach. Bucky came around 2 backpacks on his shoulders and we made our way into the reception. Bucky handled the conversation as I leaned my weight onto the counter. Soon we made it into our room.

Bucky places our bags on the bed "I need a shower." I said he turned to me and nodded. I turned into the bathroom flicking on the light. The bathroom wasn't as dirty as the outside of the hotel but it wasn't completely clean. I went to pull my shirt off hissing as I tried to pull it up.

I heard the door open and footsteps enter behind me. I turned my head slightly to see Bucky standing there a emotionless expression on his face. He walked to the bathtub turning on the tap and plugging the tub. Before stepping back to me. His hands made their way to the hem of my shirt as he gently helped me take it off. He helped me undress and into the bath. I leaned against the side of the tub. He used the bar soap the help me clean off. The water filled with dirt and blood. I couldn't help but cry. I felt the pad of his finger rub under my eyes. He pulled the drain on the tube and helped me out and get dressed once more. "I love you." Those three words left my lips. They felt odd but familiar, real. True.

"I love you too." With that, he placed a kiss on my forehead. I laid down on the bed, my brain stuck in thoughts of him.
