"Did you really think I wanted more of you?" His accented voice broke through the air. The air was so thick with tension that it made it hard to breathe. We walked forward looking at the men and woman in the chambers that they were held in. Bucky positioned his body in front of mine his gun pointed high.
"What the hell?" Bucky mumbled turning to me giving me a look. Looking at the body made me almost want to puke. They were by no means the best of people but death wasn't something they deserve.
"I'm grateful to them, though, they brought you here," Steve through his shield, it bounced off and returned to him. I sucked in a breath in nerves. "Please captain, the Soviets built this chamber to withstand the launch blast of UR-100 rockets,"
"I'm betting I could beat that," Tony betted him.
"Oh, I'm sure you could, Mr.Stark. Given time, but then you'd never know why you came," I pulled my katana out a little more. I looked at Bucky whos flesh arms, knuckles were white from how hard he was gripping his weapon.
"You killed innocent people in Vienna just to bring us here?" Steve speaks as he walks forward toward the glass looking at him, his jaw setting in anger. I stepped a little bit forward. My shoulder almost touching Bucky's arm from how close we were standing. I looked up our eyes locking, his eyes mirrored the same anger and fear that mine probably have.
"I've thought of nothing else for over a year, I studied you, followed you, but now that you're standing here I just realized... there's a bit of green in the blue of your eyes," I mumbled a few curses of confusion "How nice to find a flaw,"
"You're sokovian," Steve said in a monotone voice "Is that what this is about?"
"Sokovia was a failed state, long before you blew it to hell, no. I'm here because I made a promise," He spoke his voice chilling.
"You lost someone?" Steve said in realization. Not-doctor clicks his tongue.
"I lost everyone," he starts nodding "and so will you," He turns and clicks on the computer 16 Декабря 1991 it said. December 16th, 1991. I looked to Bucky knowing what he had told us had happened that day. "An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again, but one that crumbles from within, that's dead, forever," he shrugged as he spoke as Steve turned to get a better looked at the video. I then turned to see Tony walk closer to the computer.
"I know that road, what is this?" He shouts up I turn to Bucky a frown almost permanently etched into my cheeks, we weren't getting out of this one... No one responded to him. It was silent as his attention returned to the video. I placed my hand on Bucky's arm and I looked at him. He kept his head down as he relived his actions. No, as he relived the Winter soldier's actions. We all waited for Tony's reaction.
We all flinched as Tony lunged for Bucky "Tony, Tony..." he slowly looked up at Steve as he processed what he was just shown.
"Did you know?" Steve hesitated to answer.
"I didn't know it was him," He answers untruthfully.
"Don't bullshit me, Rogers, did you know?" He asks more conviction in his voice. I gripped the hilt of the katana tighter than ever. My hands started to shake. I was going to protect my husband, even if it killed me.
"Yes," Tony pushes off of Steve shock on his features. I inhaled sharply as he punches Steve, causing him to go flying across the room.
"It wasn't him," My voice broke as I pulled my sword out holding it in front of me. My hands shaking as I started to worry. "It wasn't him." It was in vain as Bucky held the weapon up and Stark shot at us.
