I awoke sometime later, Steve and Bucky speaking. "Whatever it is. I'll deal with it," Steve's stiff voice caused me to get a grasp on reality.
"I don't know if I'm worth all this, Steve," Bucky spoke solemnly "Alana doesn't deserve this..." I frowned
"What you did all those years it wasn't you," Steve spoke, Bucky curled my hair into his fingers as he spoke once more.
"I know... but I did it," my frown deepened if that was possible.
"You didn't," My voice cracked, both men looked at me. "It wasn't you who killed them, it was Hydra," I said sitting up from my laying position, rolling my neck. We landed soon after Bucky and I standing. Bucky pulled open a cabinet that said ROMANOFF in large letters. I noticed the 2 long katanas sitting far back into the cabinet. Bucky pulling them out offering them to me. I smiled twirling them around my hands. "Let's do this," I spoke smirking slightly as we waited for the plane to open.
"You remember that time we had to ride back from Rockaway Beach in the back of that freezer truck," Steve asked Bucky a small smile built on his face he remembered the past. I smiled lightly thinking of Bucky with slicked hair and a smile that never seemed to leave.
"Was that the time we used our train money to buy hot dogs?" Bucky looked at him with a small smirk on his face. I laughed quietly watching them reconnect like nothing ever happened.
"You blew 3 bucks trying to win that stuffed bear for a redhead," I smirked looking at Bucky with raised brows.
"What was her name again?" Bucky asked
"Dolores. You called her Dot," Steve replied looking forward
"She's gotta be a hundred years old right now," Bucky said and I snorted loudly
"You are to my love," I spoke up playfully pushing him a smile burned into my face. "But we should get going though," Bucky and Steve nodded and we made our way down to the cold grounds of Siberia. The cold nipped my skin but I kept forward.
"He can't have been here more than a few hours," Steve spoke casing our surroundings. I held the hilt of one of the katanas to be ready for anything that might go down. The wind howled loudly as I breathed in time with it.
"Long enough to wake them up," Bucky replied moving his body closer to mind giving me a look before we proceeded into the hydra hideout. We made our way to an elevator. Steve and Bucky looked at each other giving a slight nod as we readied ourselves for whatever was down there. The elevator came to a halting stop. Steve looked into the hallway giving us a look before lifting the caging of the elevator up. We started to walk through the hallways slowly.
Bucky stood in front of Steve. His gun in a ready position. Steve stood in front of me his shield up and ready to be used as a frisbee. My katana held up ready for use. We walked Bucky aiming his gun back and forth. We started up the stairs when a loud thud could be heard echoing through the building. "You ready?" Steve asked I sighed audibly twirling my katana around my hand getting into position holding my sword up and ready.
Tony Stark came in dressed in his tin can of a suit. A scowl reached my face "You seem a little defensive," he spoke his bruised face almost bringing a smile to my face.
"It's been a long day," Steve replied I snorted inaudibly in agreement.
"At ease soldiers, I'm not currently after you," I gave a sharp look.
"I will kill you," I said
"Then why are you here?" Steve asked after giving me a glare after my threats.
"Could be your story is not so crazy," Stark spoke I rolled my eyes. "Maybe," Stark said trying to keep his ego intact. "Ross has no idea I'm here. I'd like to keep it that way otherwise, I gotta arrest myself." he kept going making me more annoyed as the seconds passed.
"Make him shut up," I begged Steve who smiled slightly though it dropped as it came.
"Well, that sounds like a lot of paperwork," Tony smiles but scoffs I rolled my eyes looking up at Bucky who had the same look of annoyance. "It's good to see you, Tony," Steve greeted I had advanced up the steps standing closer to Bucky who had the gun still pointed at Tony.
"You too, Cap," Tony looked to us seeing I still held my hilt in a semi-ready position. "Hey, Manchurian Candidates, you two are killing me here, there's a truce here. You can drop..." Steve put his hand out in a motion to tell us to stand down. Bucky lowered his gun and I begrudgingly sheathed my katana. We started to walk further into the Hydra base. I walked slowly my hands resting on my hilts as we moved forward.
"I got heat signatures," Tony spoke causing my skin to crawl at the thought of this fight.
"How many?" Steve asked
"Uh, one?" Stark spoke very confusedly, one? That shouldn't be right. We continued on our way. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I looked at Bucky worry probably written on my face as he returned the look. We walked into the chamber room to see 5 chambers. Yellow and lit up. Condensation built upon the glass on the chambers. But something was different, the glass had holes in it. Red splatters of blood.
"If it's any comfort, they died in their sleep." The familiar voice of not-doctor broke through the air. I pulled my katana out of my sheath slightly. I looked at Bucky with a frown. This wasn't good...
