As Gabriel went down the stairs, his phone started to ring. Surprised, he stepped down from the last carpeted step into the cold living room and walked towards the chair where his jacket was draped over the back.
Gabriel shuffled his feet across the old carpet, tripping over a shoe that was placed haphazardly in the middle of the walkway. He caught himself before looking at the shoe with a glare.
It was his shoe. The one from last night that he tossed off when he had drifted into the house half asleep.
The ringing of the phone snapped him out of his heated staring contest with the inanimate object. Rushing over to the chair, Gabriel quickly pulled out the device that was in the jacket pocket and answered it right before it went to voicemail.
"Hello?" He asked curiously, who would be calling him this early?
"Oh, you actually picked up. Maui told me to tell you that he apologizes for what happened yesterday and that he will see you at the next scheduled meeting. He also muttered something about training them better before then... So, yeah." Mr.Reed explained, obviously not liking being his mates messenger boy.
"Okay, tell him that I accept his apology and that Marzel wants to talk to them. I can give his number to Maui to give to them, okay?" Gabriel offered, knowing how Marel wanted to be in his older brothers lives again.
"Oh yeah, that's perfect... Well, see you after school." The teen chuckled and said goodbye to his teacher.
Gabriel looked at his screen and saw the alphas voicemail and decided to listen to it just in case there was other information on it.
"Listen, Gabriel, I'm really sorry-" He stopped it there knowing that his teacher probably already shortened what the alpha had left in the message.
Gabriel turned his phone back off and sat down the device onto the cold table before turning back to the shoe that almost caused him to fall down a couple minutes ago.
He Glared at it again before sighing as he shook his head, walking back to the spot to bend over and grab the shoe and its pair that was resting on the side of the couch. He placed the shoes down next to his chair before grabbing the empty large flask that he used for his water throughout the day.
Multiple colorful stickers adorned the flask. Some covering dents, others covering where the waterproof paint started to chip off.
Gabriel's footsteps tapped softly against the linoleum flooring of the kitchen as he placed his flask on the countertop. He turned towards the old black fridge, opening one of the doors that was covered in old photographs being held up by multi-colored plastic alphabet magnets.
The Fridge light came on and illuminated the contents, the half-empty jar of pickle chips, the containers of muffins, the pitcher that had the water in it, the half gallon of orange juice. Gabriel pulled out the orange juice along with the pitcher, placing them next to the flask before turning back to shut the door.
He turned back to his flask and twisted off the black plastic lid, placing it down on to the countertop behind the pitcher.
He picked up the pitcher and poured the cold water into the flask, tilting it carefully to avoid the overflow that has happened in the past.
Steps came down the stairs just as Gabriel started to put back the now three fourths full pitcher. Pink hair turned around the corner as Finn walked into the cold living room with a light blue sweatshirt on, his multi shade gray messenger bag slung across his holders before he walked over and deposited it on his own chair.
