「 Enoch was walking down the street the other day, trying to distract himself. It was early in the morning, the second day of his life in 2017. It was a cold dawn of January, cold as himself. For Enoch, expressing every single emotions and feelings human have was quite tiring and boring. I lived enough, Enoch thought. He always wanted to live normal - not peculiarly, not bringing useless puppets into life. Not living in the same old day of 1940 every single day without any 'tomorrow's. Born normal, live normal, die normal. That was all Enoch had dreamed of, but since his dreams were hopeless, instead of dreaming he chose being curt. A deep glare living in his eyes. A frown. But now his thoughts were tangled to each other since his dreams weren't hopeless anymore. He walked the empty, cold street without noticing his legs were getting wobbly. His head was only filled with those thoughts.
He finally stopped walking since he ran out of breath. The boy turned around and headed back home. He woke up from his complicated thoughts, and saw something very - you know, peculiar. Enoch was shuddering because of the cold weather, even though he was wearing a thick jacket - but a girl with a thin T-shirt and a jean was standing on the middle of the street, not shuddering a bit.
If it was the usual, cold-hearted Enoch he would've just snorted and walked away. However, something inside his heart made him to go talk to her. He didn't know if it was related to the complicated thoughts, or if he just liked how she looked.
"Hey." Said Enoch, awkwardly. The girl turned around, and met Enoch's eyes.
"Hey." She said, casually like if she already knew who he was. Enoch was confused by her respond, but kept calm.
"What are you doing out here?" He asked.
"Um, I was wondering if I could stay in Miss Peregrine's home, since I lost my home." She said. Enoch was confused once again, how does this girl know about Miss Peregrine? Oh, is she another peculiar? How is she talking so casually to a stranger?"You are always welcomed, Miss Peregrine loves children." Said Enoch. It felt weird and seemed Enoch to talk to somebody in such a smooth voice.
"I can't. You guys hate me." The girl replied. "My name is December Peregrine." She said, stretching out a hand. Enoch shook her hand.
