Pan had tossed me over his shoulder and carried me back to their camp afterwards, he claimed "a winner shouldn't have to walk". I tried to protest but he ignored me.
"You're awful" I mutter, my arms crossed.
He chuckled and put me on my feet when we arrived. The other boys were already in their makeshift tents, probably asleep. The fire was still going, I doubted it was ever out.
I sat down on a log and stared into the fire, ignoring Pan as he wandered around for a second then came back and sat beside me. He said nothing and did the same thing I was doing, stare at the fire.
He started fiddling around with something in his hand. It was round and gold, it looking like a ring, but there was a word engraved on the inside, it didn't look the same as the one the person who kidnapped my mother was wearing. But my memory could have easily been mistaking it for something else.
"Who gave you that ring?"
He chuckled softly, staring at the ring in his hand. "You are really interested in this ring"
"Why do you say that? I'm just curious, you always have it with you"
"Someone like you gave it to me"
"No, I need a proper answer. A name"
"You're a lot more persistent this time" he mumbled.
"Name. Now"
"No"
"Yes"
"No"
"Yes"
"How about this. If you win at any game of my choosing, I'll tell you whatever you want about this ring"
"Alright. What game?"
"Hunt the thimble"
"Easy"
He smirks. "Not easy. We do things differently on Neverland. Hide and seek isn't a fun game for children"
"Then explain the rules for me"
"You hide, we seek"
"All of you? That can't be fair"
"You will run and hide, anywhere on the island, all the other Lost Boys, including myself, will go looking for you. If we find you within two hours you lose"
"So I have to survive two hours out in the forest, I can do that"
He stood up and looked down at me. "But we won't do this right now, they're all asleep. Tomorrow, after the sun is up, I'll tell you when"
He started walking away, leaving me on the log, but I wasn't done talking to him yet. Questions, ones that weren't so important, starting popping up in my head.
"Where am I going to be sleeping?" I ask.
He stopped and smirked at me. "With me"
"No"
"It's either that or you stay there on the log with the chance of being attacked in the middle of the night"
Begrudgingly I got up, following him towards a treehouse. We climbed up the ladder and went into the spacious treehouse. There was a double bed, a desk with papers on it, and a wardrobe.
"Am I on the floor?"
He sat on the bed, patting it as if to tell me I would be sleeping there. The thought had to sink into my mind for a second. I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms.
"No"
"Would you rather sleep on the floor?" He asks.
"Don't you have any empty tents or treehouses?"
He shakes his head. "Come on Love, just give in" he said.
I groan. "I'm not giving in, but I am tired. If you touch me you're dead"
"That's fair" he said with a chuckle.
I got in the bed, keeping myself as close to the side as possible, not wanting to be near him. He got in as well, not caring about the space between us. Eventually, after I was convinced he wouldn't do anything, I fell asleep.
"It seems you've found out how to use your magic. What was it that pushed you?" A voice asks behind me.
I turn, throwing a fireball at him, but he vanishes. My hands turn into fists, my nails diving into the palm of my hand. A hand turns my body so I was facing the other way and some invisible force throws me back. I land on the ground, groaning in pain as I sit myself up on my elbows.
"What was that for!" I shout at him.
"For fun" he says with a wide smile.
I fall back, watching the trees blow back and forth in the slight breeze. Pan's head comes into my eyesight, his eyes watching me interestingly. He extends a hand out to me and I reluctantly grab it.
I squeal as he yanks me up. He had pulled me so I ended up chest to chest with him. His other arm encircled my waist as he smirked at how close we were. I bite my lip, feeling incredibly awkward in this position.
"I knew you'd end up falling for me"
"Wait what?" I ask shocked just as his lips meet mine.
I gasp awake from the dream before it could go any further. It confused me, how I was dreaming about things like this, instead of those nightmares. Why these dreams? And why did it seem like I was in love with Pan?
