Short summary:
All humanity is lost in silence and prejudice. All music diminished down to a minuscule rat a tat of heartbeats, most overthrown by insanity.
Patrick's mind is foggy, unaware of the chaos he's causing, blinded by the bond he has broken. Flashes of memories and balance come to him periodically, but those moments only bring torment and grief. He has tried to find a way to stop his brain from controlling him too much, but any amount of tumult triggers his disarray.
Pete is trying to understand what crazy thoughts are rushing through his lovers head. Why one moment he can see him bawling in sorrow, but the next be maniacally giggling over everyone's screams of agony. He wants to help Patrick so bad, but it won't be easy nor safe.
