Tikki's POV
"So by the time I biked to the Eiffel Tower, it was all over! You know, Ivan turned normal, police making a fuss, and Cat Noir and Ladybug nowhere to be seen!" Alya slumped over and whined while walking to France College High School. "And I didn't even get to get my scoop." She whimpered.
Marinette giggled and walked up the steps to the school, Alya reluctantly following her lead. "Don't worry," Marinette reassured, "you'll get it soon." Marinette stated her sentence like it was a fact.
I smiled. I knew what she was thinking. It hadn't taken long to realize that Marinette was completely unreliable when it came to waking up in the mornings. Marinette woke up in a complete rush, bathing herself in perfume and completely forgetting to put in her pigtails.
"Your right," Alya said, straightening up. "Next mission: Ladybug and Cat Noir; Exclusive Interview!" Alya did jazz hands.
Marinette fiddled with her hair, finding it uncomfortable. Marinette hadn't had her hair down in forever, she'd told me. Last year she had worn it in a bun, and the year before that it'd been in a ponytail. "Ooh, sounds exciting," she teased.
"Yeah," Alya agreed. "No! Wait! Even better. Finding out who's really under the mask. Are they lovers or complete strangers? Find out soon on the Ladyblog and SnapCat!"
Marinette let out a laugh that sounded like bells when she heard that Alya assumed that her and Cat Noir were lovers. "Yeah, good luck with that." Marinette walked up the stairs.Alya followed Marinette up the stairs. "I'm telling you, Marinette, I will discover where they are! It's my destiny! I'll just sneak up on them, phone in hand, and - boom! Secret identity not so secret - ow!"
Alya crashed into a boy with a blue shirt and red cap. "Hey, watch where you're goi - in..." The feisty brunette's snappy retort faltered when she saw who she'd bumped into. Her cheek turned momentarily red.
"Woah, easy tiger, chill," The boy said and placed one hand on her shoulder while other fixed his cap. Alya's red cheeks were impossible to miss.
"Oh, sorry," Alya muttered. Marinette giggled. Alya elbowed her in the ribs. Marinette groaned and I stifled a giggle of my own.
The boy smiled and his golden eyes seemed to brighten. "No worries, dudette" He reassured. He then turned to my holder. "Hey Marinette," he greeted. Marinette smiled and waved shyly, still eyeing her best friend and the boy.
"What's your name, DJ?" Alya inquired. The boy smiled, showing all of his whitened teeth. "I'm Nino," he declared. The boy stuck out his hand.
It took a moment for Alya to realize what the gesture meant, and when she did, she was fighting the battle to hide her blush, to no avail. "Alya," she returned. She shook his hand.
The boy smiled, and before he could speak, the school bell rang interrupting the rest of the interesting conversation.
"Oh no, we're going to be late!" Marinette yelped. Marinette made a mad dash to the stairs where her class was located. I jolted against the the side of her purse. Marinette, you are such a ruiner of romantic moments. I groaned internally.
I peeked out of my purse. Nino had let go of Alya's hand but was whispering in her ear. I leaned forward, straining my non visible ears. "I know," Nino said.
Alya smiled at Nino and dashed after Marinette so Nino couldn't see the dopey grin that he left on her. Marinette stopped by the door to the classroom and waited for Alya. "Alya and Nino, sitting in a tree," she sang, "K-I-S-S-I-N-G."
