"Holy shit! Are you ok?" the guy screamed as he got closer. "my head hurts." I said as he approached me. He was now standing over my face. "you took that tree on like a wild woman." he said with a laugh. I hit my head when I turned around. "maybe that's why they say don't turn around while someone is chasing you." I thought. "I looked up at him and he had the cutest face. Pefectly shaped with golden blonde hair ending righ where his eyes started. "I'm fine." I said even though my head hurt like hell. "here let me help you up." he held out a hand. I took it an he pulled me up. "I'm Simon. Simon Ian." "Megan Fayes." I said as I got to my feet. "So. What were you doing in my yard?" he asked calmly. "just looking." I tried to play it off. "I don't buy it. Come in and tell me why you just show up at a random guy's house then run when he wants to talk to you." this guy was something. Who would let in a stranger who was obcisouly trying to hide je reason why she was at his house?
We went inside and the house was covered from head to toe with nicknacks. "this guy is defiantly a pack rat." I thought to myself. "come. Sit." he motioned towards the loveseat. I took a seat as he asked, "So why were you in my yard?" "I told you I was just looking." "Alright. I heard that one. Now tell me the truth." he insisted. "what makes you think I'm lying?" I asked defending myself. "the fact that you look like shit. Like you have no place to go an was looking for somewhere." "well thanks for the compliment." I said sarcastically. "hey you asked." he said defending himself. "I really want to know why you were in my yard." "why should I tell you?" I questioned. "for one, it's my yard. For two, I could call the cops for you trespassing if hounding tell me."
Should I tell him? "I was looking for somewhere to go." I caught myself saying. "Ok. Well you found one. Good thing you stopped here isn't it." I was confused. " wait what? You're letting me stay here? I just trespassed, ran from you, and refused to tell you the truth before you threatened to call the cops. Why would you let me stay with you?" "because any gi who is willing to do something like that obviously needs a place to stay. I have a spare bedroom anyways." he said as if it were no big deal. "now go clean up" he pointed to the bathroom.
I closed the bathroom door behind me and couldn't help but feeling like this was all just Dajavu. I found where I had a massive bruise in my forehead from hitting it against the tree. I washed my face and put some bronzed on to try and hide it. When I was brushing my hair I found pieces of sticks in my hair and felt like a cave woman. I picked all the littlempeices ou and pulled my hair into a pony tail. I Changed my clothes and realized that I needed to wash these or go shopping.
"much better." Simon said as he motioned for me to sit back down. This guy is strange I told myself. I sat sown and he just stared at me. "what?" I asked trying to sound rude. "oh nothing." he said with a smile. "it's just not everyday that I have a pretty girl sitting in my livingroom." "ok well stop
Staring at me you're creeping me out." I gave him the stink-eye. "ok fine I will." he said with a smile. "wheresthe spare? I'm going to bed." I stated as I got up and walked, not known where I was going. "down the hall to the left." "thanks." i headed tithe bedroom.
I'm not goin to lie, I truly freaked out by this guy. I just hoped he didn't come in and try to seduce me. That thought made my mind drift back to the night before. When I felt lost if Carter's hands weren't against my body or his mouth against mine. I shook the thought away. "I'm only actin like this because he was my first." I told myself. I fell asleep thinking about Carter.
"wake up, sleepy head." Simon called from the hall as I I was a little girl. I got up and walked into the living room. "I'm up." I sai as I sat down on the loveseat like the day before. Simon joined me in the living room and turned on the television. "You're sort of beautiful when you sleep." I turned to him. "did
You watch me?" I demanded. "only for a minute" he admitted. "I wanted to make sure you were sleeping and not just waiting for me to sleep so you can murder me." he said jokingly. This is a creep! "I don't apreciate that. I I was going to kill you, I would've done it by now." I said. He let out a slight chuckle.
"How long are you planning on staying?" he asked a couple hours later. "you can stay as long as you want but I was just wondering." he added. "until I can find a place." "Ok." after that we really didn't talk much.
It was my eighth day away from Carter and I still hadn't talked to Simon hardly at all. I had Changed my mind about him though. He wasn't as creepy as I made him out to be. As days went by he became almost like a normal person. He was sweet, caring, kind of shy. I noticed nobody ever came over to hang out with him. He was a little bit anti-social I figured out. That's probably why he was so weird when he let me stay.
Simon cooked dinner for the two of us everynight. We usually ate in the living room together but never said a word. When he handed me my plate and I took my spot on the loveseat, I looked at him. "thanks for doing all of this." I said. He blushed and looked down at his plate. "your welcome. I like having you here. It's makes me feel like I'm not so lonely." I fet bad for him. He really did t have anyone. He is like me. "I like being here." I said with a smile. I really meant it too. I liked having someone around with me, even though we never talked. He looked up and smiled back.
"why did you need a place to stay?" he asked a couple minutes later. "I ran away." I said bluntly. I didn't know why I was telling him this. I never told Carter and I knew more about him. Hell I had sex with the man! "that's what I figured." "how?" "you talk in your sleep." he paused. "you miss your parents don't you?" I
Never really thought about the fact I could miss them. "I don't know how I could." "that bad huh?" he had no idea.
There was a moment of silence. "I was a runaway." we just stared at each other. "is that why you let me stay with you?" "yeah." he paused. "Well, that and you're pretty." this time I blushed. Simon has told me I'm pretty before but this is the first time I've actually listened. "Thanks. You aren't so bad yourself." I said with a laugh. This was a good conversation. I feel
Like we are actually connecting.
"do you wanna do something tonight?" he asked me after dinner. "like what? We already ate and it's getting kind of dark." "don't worry, I know a place." he sai with a smile as he grabbed my hand. I knew he was trying to drag me along to wherever he was wanting to go but when his hand touché mine I felt like a lightning bolt just struck us. Something that I never felt with Carter when he touched me.
Simon pulled me into his car and we drive off. It was the fist time I had been in a car since Carter dropped me off. It was different. Like I had a friend next to me. "where are we going?" I asked. "none of your business" he said jokingly. I laughed. "don't I have any right to know." "yeah. I guess but I'm still not telling you. It's a surprise." he smiled at me and I just smiled back.
We drove in silence for nearly an hour. I din mind it though. It was peaceful. It was like even though it was quite I still knew that I was safe and happ because I was with a friend. Simon stopped the car. "were here!" he said excited. "close your eyes. I don't want you to see it before we get to the goo part." he said covering my eyes with his hands. I placed mine over his. His warmth went through my body as if I just got electricuted.
We walked until I couldn't hear the cars from the road anymore. He rook his hands off my eyes. "open" he said gently.
It was beautiful.
