We pulled into the driveway and Simon put into park. We just sat in the car for a minute. He turned and looked at me.
"what?"
"do you mind if you stay here for about half an hour while I go do something?"
I gave him a confused look. "yeah I guess. Why? Where you going?"
"can't tell you that." he said as he opened the car door and stepped out.
I followed his motions. I walked around to the drivers side. "why not?"
"because." he was walking up towards the front door.
"you loveyo be difficult don't you." I met him at the door while he was searching for his keys.
"what can I say." he paused while he unlocked the door and stepped inside. "that's what I do." he finished.
"now you can relax or do what ever. I'll be back soon."
He left. "he's up to something." I told myself as a sat down in my spot and turned the tv on.

It had been hours since Simon left. At the 2 and a half hour mark it was dark outside and I figured he's probably going to be longer. I got up off the couch and headed to the kitchen. It was a wreck so I decided to start cleaning the place up a bit.
I had cleaned up the kitchen, doing all of the dishes, wiping down the counters, organizing the frigde and freezer, organized the cabinets, and moping before moving on to another room.
I was getting ready to start cleaning the living room when I looked up at the clock. It had been another hour and a half. "that means he has been gone for four hours!" I was getting really worried. "he told me he would only be gone for half an hour."
I decided that I would try and call him. I picked up the home phone and headed into the kitchen. When I was cleaning I found a list of emergency numbers that had his on there too. I didn't know when he wrote it or how accurate it was but I was going to tr it anyways.
Right as I dialed the last digit a car pulled in the driveway. I peeked through the curtain to see if I could tell Jo it was. "thank God" I whispered under my breath.
Seconds later, Simon came through the door in a hurry. "What took you so long?!" after I said it I realized I was screaming at him.
"I'm so sorry Megan!" he took my hand. "I know I told you half an hour but when I got out there I couldn't find what I was looking for so I had to search everywhere. I had to drive to the next town over to find it. I'm so sorry."
"I'll Only forgive you if you tell me what you were looking for."
"I can't tell you. I have to show you." he gave me a smile.
This smile wasn't like any other smile I have seen. This one showed complete happiness. This one showed love. This one showed trustworthiness and truthfulness. This smile was the best smile I have ever seen.
"ok" I had to smile back.
He pulled meto the car. "where are we going?"
"Shh. You'll find out." he looked at me quickly.
"at least tell me how long we are going to be in the car."
"I will tell you that I need you to relax." he laughed. "trust me. You are going to love this." he took my hand and squeezed it.
I loved it when he held my hand. He probably didn't mean it in any way other than friends but I still couldn't help but melt.
I've never felt like this before. Not even with Carter.
