We spent all night on that cliff. It was too gorgeous to leave. There was a medium sized pond sitting below us. No matter where you stood on the cliff, you could see the entire city. Since it was already dark outside, you could see all the city lights along with the stars. It was like you were on a cloud staring back at the world below you. Just magnificent I tell you.
"How did you find this place?" I asked. "I come up here to think." he laid out a blanket. "when I first got here after I ran away, I found this place and stayed up here for days. It was perfect for me because I could be by myself. I love being up here."
We both took a seat on the blanket. "it's beautiful" I slighlty whispered. "I thought you would like it." he looked at me and smiled. I smiled back and laid now so I could look at the stars. "when you were a kid did you ever try and make things out of the stars?" I asked
"not really when I was a kid but more like after I was on my own and didn't have anything to worry about. I would just lay back and forget about my problems."
"whenever by parents went to sleep I would lay in the floor next to my window and stare at the stars until I could find a shape or I got tired. It was one of my favorite things." I thought back to my old life. I thought about my parents and how much I despised them. I thought about what they were doing right now.
"do you ever wonder if there is someone out there looking for you?" I asked.
"yeah. Sometimes." Simon paused. "I've been gone for awhile though. I doubt anyone is still looking for me, if they ever were. Do you?"
"yeah. I don't know though my parents didn't really notice
Me unless they were yelling at me and I only had one friend. Even we weren't that close so I doubt anyone is looking for me either."
"good." he said with a smile. I didn't understand what he was trying to say. "what?"
"look I found a turtle!" I could tell he didn't want to talk about it and that's why he changed the subject.
"where?" he pointed to a big blob of stars. I didn't see it but I told him I did anyways.
We didn't talk for almost the rest of the night. I was too busy trying to think why he said it was good nobody was looking for me.

The next day we woke up still on the cliff. I still couldn't stop thinking about what he said last night. I couldn't figure out if he meant it like he was happy we met and probably won't leave or something else. The thought kind of scared me. I sat up and looked over. Simon was gone.
I stood up to go look for him when he stepped out from behind a tree. "Morning beautiful." he was holding some sticks and chunks of wood. "I got some things to try and burn. I didn't know how long you would sleep an didn't want you getting cold. I thought it was a little chilly out here."
"thanks. I'm fine though. I'm up and I don't think it's too cold out here." I didn't think it was cold at all really.
"ok then." simon put the wood down and walked over towards the blanket. He took a seat an look up at me. He gave me a look like he wanted me to go over there and sit next to him so that's wha I did.
It was silent for a minute. "about last night." Simon said. I looked up at him desperately wanting him to tell me what he meant.
"what about last night." I tried to play it off as if I didn't know what he was talking about.
"when I told you I was glad nobody would look for you."
"oh yeah. That."
"yeah I realized that probably could be taken in way that makes me sound like a creepy murderer."
I laughed. "yeah. How did you mean it?"
"well." i just stared at him wanting him to answer. "I just mean it as I wanted to spend more time with you. That's all." he gave me a sweet smile.
"that could be arranged." I smiled back. We both laughed.
"when do you want to leave?"
I didn't know what he meant but then I realized we were still on the cliff. "whenever your ready."
"well what do you wanna do today?"
"up for anything"
"alright." he stood up and reached down for my hand. "come on." he said smiling.
I reached for his hand and he pulled me up. "where are we going?"
"to the car." he said sarcastically
"fine." I said laughing.
