Perfect Example Of Forever

You are my perfect example of forever,

You tell me that you met a boy and fell in love,

You tell me that you are engaged and we both cry,

You introduce me to your new husband and he looks at you as if you are the only one he sees,

You sit rocking your new baby on the same porch we used to play on,

You stand on the porch waving goodbye to your daughter on her first day of school,

You cry at your son's wedding,

You kiss your husband just because you can,

You cry at the birth of your grandchild,

You smile when you realise you are a grandmother,

You celebrate your 80th birthday surrounded by your beautiful family,

And I still see your husband look at you as if you are the only one he sees.
