Katniss Everdeen - fifteen years old, quiet schoolgirl, hunter, sister, daughter. When she gets called to be in the 73rd Hunger Games, she knows she can win, she knows she can come home to her family. To her mother, to her sister, to her father, who fortunately never passed in the mine explosion, for there was none.
Peeta Mellark - sixteen years old, strong wrestler, popular schoolboy, brother, son. When he gets called to be in the 74th Hunger Games, he knows, he's been told before, he couldn't come home. He was too weak to, he has been told by his mother. He can't come home to the things he loves, to the things he will miss, to the things he wants, dream, hasn't done just yet. His mentor, Katniss Everdeen, pushes him to prove himself, and his mother, wrong.
This is the story of both of their Games. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in their favor.
(The story will usually be told in two sections per chapter. First, it will be Peeta's then the second half will be Katniss's. Peeta's will be the most present while Katniss's will be telling her games from the past. So, I will be writing both of their games simultaneously. I will also be using my POV in some chapters, telling either present events or past, whichever I feel. I hope this isn't confusing, and if it is, just leave your questions or ignore this and start reading :) ~R.W.)
