She lays there. Not moving at all. I sit in this room watching how her chest rises and falls softly. Listening to the monitor at the side of her bed, beeping. That's how I know she's still with me, that small beeping noise repeating over and over again. The hospital room door opens slowly, I turn around to face the door. The doctor smiles lightly and I return it. He comes over to the hospital bed and begins to check on Dasom. He sighs.
"What's wrong, doctor?"
He turns to face me with a sad face.
"She's slowly dying and I can't stop it.."
Anger begins to boil inside me. What does he mean he can't stop it?! He's a doctor!
"Help her! I don't care how much it cost!" I yell at him.
He sighs and nods.
"We dont have what she needs but I have a friend in the United Kingdom that can help her, only the hospitals in the U.S. and the U.K., but the transpass of her there and the treatment are very expensive..."
"I said I don't care how much it cost, just do what you have to do to save her!"
"Okay, Mr. Kim. I'll go call up my friend and get a room reserved for her and get the treatment ready as well. For now, go get your and her suitcase and be ready to leave at any moment."I nod and he nods back, he exits the room. Once he leaves I hold her hand in mine and smile. Whispering softly..
"I'm going to do whatever it takes to save you, Dasom.."
I haven't left the hospital since Dasom got hospitalized. She has been here for more than 4 weeks. Dasom is suffering because of her blood cells. Her bad blood cells are killing off her good blood cells, and this causes her to lose the sense of pain and she gets bruises all over her body. All of the treatment she is receiving weakens her. The good thing is that she doesn't feel as much pain. But the bad thing is that she is slowly dying. She's the only person who supported me through all my decisions. My one and only friend, supporter and love. I need her and she needs me. This is why I am here now. This is why I am fighting for her, because she is my whole world.
