Jimin had woken up before you, opting to stay in bed instead of getting up. There was nothing he could do anyway.
You were still fast asleep beside him, your body moving up and down with each gentle breath you took in your slumber. He propped himself up on his elbow, gazing fondly at your sleeping figure, taking in your natural beauty like a sponge to water.
His eyes drifted from your lashes that rested delicately against your cheeks, one of which was smushed softly against the pillow, to your plush-looking lips that were stuck out in a faint pout. While admiring your features, Jimin caught sight of the bracelet that was still clipped around your wrist, the silver charm glinting in the morning sunlight filtering in through the curtains. A soft smile graced his full lips as he brought his gaze to his own bracelet. The idea of having matching jewelry excited Jimin and made his heart swell with an overwhelming emotion. It was something that symbolized a connection or a relationship, wether that be romantic or platonic. And though he couldn't exactly call you his, seeing that bracelet on your wrist made him feel warm and fuzzy inside.
You shuffled slightly in your slumber, releasing a soft sigh while nuzzling further into your pillow, wrapped in the embrace of whatever dream you were having. Jimin reached over to gingerly brush a fallen strand of hair away from your face before reluctantly pulling back. You were the most stunning person he had ever laid eyes on. In his eyes, no mermaid could compare to you.
He had strong feelings for you ever since I first laid eyes on you. He would watch you leave your house almost every day to walk along the beach or go for a swim and collect seashells, admiring you from afar. Watching you and your daily habits became a regular thing for him and filled his afternoons, and sometimes evenings with joy. He was infatuated with you, perhaps even in love.Your lids opened slightly, revealing your beautiful irises that left Jimin breathless every time he looked at you.
"Good morning." He greeted you with a soft smile, his voice gravely and laced with sleep.
"Good morning."
Pushing yourself into a sitting position, you stretched out your stiff limbs, releasing a long exhale into the air. Jimin was quick to sit up as well, his eyes never leaving you.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" You asked with a titter.
"You're just really beautiful."
"Ah." A light rush of heat spread across the apples of your cheeks. "I need to go wash my face."
You pushed yourself out of bed, quickly scampering out of the room, leaving a chuckling Jimin to himself. While you hid away in the bathroom to freshen up, Jimin slid off the bed and chose an outfit for the day. He very much liked the idea of getting to pick out outfits and mixing and matching different garments. He couldn't exactly wear clothes since he lived underwater, so getting to put on something new every day was fun and exciting.
While waiting for your return, Jimin passed the time by looking at the many shells lined along another one of your shelves. They varied in size, shape, and color, weren't even full shells.
His fingertips traced over the shape of a small dusty rose spiral shell, chuckling softly to himself.
It was endearing to him how you took such an interest in collecting things that he saw all the time. To him, there was nothing extraordinary or special about any of the shells you had amassed. He wouldn't give a second glance to most of the shells, yet here you are displaying them on shelves to show off and admire.
He wondered what they looked like in your eyes. If you were displaying them, they must look like the finest gemstones to you.
