Unexpected Love

Chapter 9

- Harry's POV -

I sat on the couch with my hand on Alyssa's knee.  The boys are now 5 minutes late and I'm getting more nervous by the second.

Finally, the boys walk through the door, but it's not just them.  I see them all file in with Vanessa at the back with Niall.  I look over at Alyssa and she gives me a look that says she doesn't know what's going on.  

"Uhm hi Vanessa," Aly pipes up.  She seems more nervous now, not knowing what's going on.  I was still nervous, but for some reason just touching Aly's leg seemed to calm me down.  I guess just being close to her made me feel secure and ready.

Vanessa gave Aly a small smile.

"I heard that Harry was bringing Aly so, I, uh, brought my girlfriend too," Niall said with a shy smile looking at Maria.  She rolled her eyes, and Niall quickly rushed to sit down.  Vanessa followed Niall and grabbed his hand as she too took a seat on the couch.

"Alright well, now that everyone is here we can get started," Maria said, "Management has decided that since your concert is over it would be best to just relax and not do any gigs.  You boys are getting older and you need to show the world that you are not little kids anymore.  Which is why we have made the decision to move Harry, Niall, Alyssa, and Vanessa out to Los Angeles," she says simply.  I look over at Aly and see that she is just sitting there with her mouth open.  I immidiately get scared again thinking that she will surely break up with me because she won't want this.  

Who would want to move across the country at the drop of a hat?

"Now, of course I bet you are wondering how you are going to be able to move to LA.  Well, we have bought you one giant house that Harry, Alyssa, Niall and Vanessa can live in, and another house for the rest of the boys.  We want you guys to hang out for awhile before we pull out the big publicity stunts," she finishes.  I so badly want to glare at her.  I hate publicity stunts just to make the press happy.  They usually don't end very well and if anything happens to Aly I will kill them.

"So, let me get this straight," Aly starts, "You are moving all of us to Los Angeles to just relax and then eventually get some publicity out of it?"

"Yes, that's exactly what we're doing," Maria says nonchalantly. She is so used to just ordering people around that she doesn't even realize that she could be tearing apart someones life.  I still wonder what Aly is thinking and if she is freaking out and thinking about just leaving me.

Aly sits back on the couch and shrugs her shoulders.  I thought this might happen, but I thought there would be more questions, more fighting, but this plan didn't seem to have any effect on anyone.  

"I'll just need everyone to sign this contract saying they agree to everything and blah blah blah," Maria said grabbing a stack of papers from the man next to her, and handing us each a little packet.  

- Alyssa's POV - 

Harry seemed like he was freaking out a little bit inside, but everyone else seemed fine.  I had no problem moving.  I was barely going to my college classes and I had nothing else here except for Vanessa who was coming with us.  I knew her mom would be just fine with her going, she had always wanted Vanessa to follow her own path and do what she wants.  

Harry looked at me and I gave him an encourgaing nod, and signed the papers myself.  I knew that management would throw some wacky stuff our way, but I had belief that Harry and I coudl survive it.  We always would.

On the drive home Harry was very quiet.

"Babe, what's wrong?" I asked.

"I just wish my life wasn't always so controlled by management.  We could've just stayed here, lived in your cute little apartament," he replied.

"Hey, hey, hey don't feel bad! Don't get me wrong I love New York, but I have stayed here my whole life.  I need a new start, and I can't think of a better way of getting a new start than with you and Vanessa by my side.  This is what I want, don't be upset about it," I told him.

"Promise?"

"Promise," I said and kissed him.  This was the right choice.  A new life was ahead of me, one that included him in it.  And I knew I'd be okay. 

Authors note: wowie this is a really short chapter! but I am at camp so it's hard for me to find enough time to write something significantly long.
