After receiving word on the attack, it was late afternoon and the sun was beginning to set while Wilford Warfstache was back in his office, not happy with the results.

"You see? I told you we couldn't trust him!" he angrily shouted. "He had one job to do and he failed!"

"Relax William, he carried out his task well enough. He shook them up to the point where now we can move on to the next stage"

"Yes, I suppose ur right" he agreed. "After all, we have a more definite, more satisfying way of solving our problems" he noted gladly. "I think it's about time the real fun began" he grinned evily.

"So let's....get started"

"Yea, don't worry, everything is good here" Mark assured Bob on the phone. "Yea, we should be heading back there soon" he noted. "Ok, ur welcome, we'll see you later" he finished before hanging up and going to Amy and Kathryn, who were waiting for him by the edge of the balcony.

"Hey, everything good?" Amy asked.

"Yea, Bob was just making sure we were ok" he informed. "Any luck?" he looked to Kathryn.

"It looks like it, but we'll hafta wait and see" she replied.

"Ok" Mark nodded.

"What about him?" Amy asked, nodding past Mark, leading him to look over his shoulder and face the Irishman sitting in a chair on the other end, collecting his thoughts as he stared out towards the city.

"I'll talk to him" he turned back to Amy and stated.

"Ok, we'll be here" she gave him a small smile, which he reflected appreciatively.

He went over to his friend and took the seat up on the ledge to face him. "I'm really sorry Mark" Jack shook his head regrettably.

"It's not ur fault Jack, that wasn't you" he assured.

"I really thought it was all over, I thought I was done with him" he added.

"I know, but in the end, you were able to resist...whatever that was before anyone got hurt" Mark tried to cheer him up, not to much avail. "Jack, we never really got the chance to talk about what happened to you and ur family, maybe we should now. Especially, if we're gonna find out what that was stop him" he stated.

Jack took a minute to prepare himself, finding it hard to think back on what it was like then. But he knew he needed to, and was going to now. "When I was a kid, I would spend my nights only pretending to be asleep. Only because I couldn't actually sleep, I was too afraid I would die" he began to inform as Mark intently listened. "Back then, I thought something was haunting me, like a monster or something. Looking back, I always thought that was just a child's bedtime phobia or something I was having" he continued.

"Then what happened?" Mark asked.

Jack took a deep breath and let it out through the nose before continuing. "My parents invited me out to their old cabin for a little family get together a couple of years ago, and for a while, things were going great and we were happy" he stated. "But then, it started happening again. I couldn't explain what was going on, so many weird, and freaky things just kept happening all around the house" he went on. "Then, I finally met him face to face" Mark could feel his own heart pounding as Jack went on. "Once I finally discovered who, or what, was causing everything in the house and saw him, I blacked out. When I came back to it, my parents and everyone at the cabin was dead, and the knife was in my hand"

"My God" Mark breathed out.

"After that, I can only remember standing on something high above the ground, and that creepy bastard was hovering above me, grinning and chuckling and shite" he continued. "Then, the last thing I can remember was him disappearing, and then feeling a blade up against my throat" Mark closed his eyes and shook his head on that last part. "The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital about a week later. The police suspected I was the killer at first, but then Robin, a friend of mine who's a also a cop, got a foul play deal going on. As well as, the fact that most of what they had was circumstantial and they couldn't find a motive. Robin didn't get real far with finding out what happened, but he got far enough to get me off, and that's when you came along" he finished with a small smile, Mark reflecting that as well.
