Alec was sitting on the balcony of Magnus's (and his own) loft. He was drinking his black coffee while reading a book. It was mid spring and Alec had been in a sulkish mood. Demon sightings have been at a low and it threw Alec off the tracks. Slaying demons was his job...his life. So no demon sightings put him in a mood that Magnus, his boyfriend, couldn't bare to deal with.
Magnus peeked his head around the sliding glass door. "Darling?" Magnus smiled seeing Alec and walked over standing behind the chair Alec was seated in. He peered over his shoulder.
"What are you reading? Another one of those useless books I'm guessing? You know, instead of being engrossed in that book you could be engrossed in me." Magnus said kissing the top of Alec's head.
Alec looked up at Magnus setting the book on his lap. "Magnus it's too early in the morning for that." Alec said reaching back to grab Magnus's hand.
Magnus tightened his grip on Alec's hand and pulled Alec up knocking the book over. "You know what it's not too early for?"
"What?" Alec asked nervously. Last time magnus asked that, Alec found himself shrunk and swimming in a bowl with Magnus's fish, Highness Fisherton. All because Magnus felt like Highness Fisherton needed a friend for a day and performed a spell on Alec to make him small. Alec would never speak of this experience again.
"A downworlder featuring a shadowhunter boat ride!" Magnus exclaimed.
"You could have just said a me and you boat ride." Alec shrugged but actually liked the idea of going on a boat ride with Magnus. "Wait hang on. You have a boat? And you never told me?" Alec said shocked.
"That's where another downworlder comes in Alexander. My fellow downworlder friend, Benjamin has a boat. Now I think it would be selfish to take his boat and not invite him. So what do you say? A boat ride with two handsomely good looking downworlders." Magnus said fiddling with Alec's shirt.
"I mean I wouldn't mind. I just wish that it would just be me and you." Alec said the last part quietly.
"Well darling good news for you, you get to take me home. You're lucky. I'm a luxury, few can afford."
"Well I'm very thrilled that I get to take you home." Alec said closing the space in between them and kissing Magnus on the lips.
Magnus's fiddling with Alec's shirt turned into him trying to unbutton Alec's shirt.
Alec leaned his forehead against Magnus's pulling his hands from his shirt and giving Magnus a knowing look. "I told you it's too early for that."
"Alright well expect some PDA on that boat though. Especially if we're going swimming." Magnus said winking.
Alec rolled his eyes.
Magnus pecked Alec's lips than pulled away clapping his hands together. "Alright my love, I'm going to call Benjamin. You get a bag together to pack food and bring your swim suit and anything else you'd like!" Magnus said skipping away.

Before he knew it, Alec and Magnus were on the boat while Benjamin began to start it. Alec watched as the boat slowing moved away from the dock. Benjamin was at the wheel and Magnus was standing beside him having a conversation. Between the soft music that was playing and the boat against the water he couldn't hear. He looked over at Benjamin and noticed he was staring at him smirking.
