Faith or Fame

Im finally here oh Im so excited.

Jacaranda just arrived to the Smash21 program. She got into her dorm and got settled in and meet her new roomate.

"Hi im Jacaranda Simone "

" Hi Im Mona Brown nice to meet omg I love your hair"

"Thank you I am so scared about this program because I dont sing like these people they are like oprah singer" The girls started laughing.

"Yeah they are but we need some change in this area of performing so youll be cool and I got ya back".

"Thanks um listen I like to blast my music during the day and stuff is that okay with you"?

"Sure who do you listen to"?

"Gospel rap, contemporary gospel all gospel but the song and lyrics be slaming just wait to you hear it".

The girls got to know eachother and got settled in. The next day they all gathered in the auditorium to meet their teachers and start there classes.

"Hello students My name is Mrs, Finkinstein and I am the head professor at this program. I expect hard work and dedication. Do you know the most thing I hate is a quiter it means your week"

Wow who put onions on this womens hot dog?

And if she would just let me give her a hair makeover she would be so much happier.

Im already starting to doubt myself this place is just not me.

After the meet up everybody was given there Itineraries and we went off to class. First class was vocal training with the Legendary Patti Lupone.

" Hello Students I am Patti Lupone"

Everyone started clapping and stood on their feet it was Patti Lupone.

I dont know about this is the women who played Evita on broadway.

What if I crackel or spit on her or fall over you know I do that.

" So Students I know many of you guys have so many different feeling going threw your bodies. Many of you are nervous, scared, excited and maybe a bit intimidated but thats okay those feeling are normal. What I want to do first is get to know you guys now I want each of you to stand up and introduce yourself."

So everyone got up Jacaranda looked very nervous as she saw everyone getting up all chipper and excited to introduce themselves. One by one the count got lower and finally the count came to Jacaranda. She sat in her seat and started talking.

" Hello everybody Im Jacaranda....

"Sorry to interupt you sweet heart but you are suppose to stand" 

Everyone stared to snicker.

"Right sorry ok my name is Jacaranda and Im seventeen years old and very excited and scared to be here and the most important thing anyone needs to know about me is I am a christian and I rep jesus Christ all day everyday " as she was about to sit down Pati stoped her.

" If you dont mind me asking you a question but would you say being a christian stoppes you from doing certain roles"?

Now out of all the people who said things she points me out  why?

You know what I wanna ask her..

Why?

Everyones eyes was on Jacaranda. They all had the same look in  there eyes like they were expecting her to say no. They werent use to someone just putting out their faith about God out like that.

" Yes I would say that becauce God comes before everything and being a christian my life has to be an example so it wouldnt look right I m saying Im a christain but in my role Im cursing all threw my scenes"

Wow everyone is like frowning at me and looking confused.

Look at Patti she has that Evita look what Is she thinking.

What does her look say to you?

"Okay thankyou Jacaranda you can take your seat"

The last people in the class went. Jacaranda thought that the awkwardness would be over and Patti would just share some tips little did she know what does happened was just the first chunk of awkwardness.

"Now I want to see where your voices are at so I want each of you to think of a broadway song Ill give you three minutes and then I want you to come up here and sing a minute of the song. Any volunteers."?

The whole class raised there hand except Jacaranda. She was trying to hid by this girls arm but the girl kept moving it. As the arm moved Jacaranda moved.

" Wow so many eager faces lets go with Miss Jacaranda"

Oh no did she just say my name?

No Im hearing things yeah thats it.

I cant think of a song off of the top of my head.

I know Ill look one up on youtube really fast before she can see.

Thw whole class turned to Jacaranda. She looked completely mortified all she could see is Patti smiling at her. Everyone started singing and practicing their songs except Jacaranda.

" Three minutes up Jacaranda can you please come up here"

Jacaranda got up and instead of going on the outside of the desk to walk she decided to go threw all the desk. She was almost there when she tripped on leg of the chair and fell on this boy.

" Oh I am so sorry" Jacaranda said jumping up

" Its okay your good" The boy said.

This can only get worse ..

Please lord dont let me be terrible.

" Jacaranda what song did you decide to sing and tell us why"

" Well I choose he lives in you from the broadway musical the lion king because it was the only song in my head ( The class began to laugh ) and Its one of my favorite shows and I love what the song says.

" Okay very good choice you may began"

 I opened my eyes and looked everyone was standing on their feet.

I couldnt hear anything the adrinaline was running and I just felt so much power from the song.

" That was amazing and you said you dont think you belong here I think you just proved you do and again very good choice.

 This feeling was amazing. 

And I dont think I would of felt this way about any other song.

This song was talking about my God and how he lives in me.

And I did what I wanted to do hear come here and show people who i am and who I live for and thats Jesus Christ.
