Another update because I missed last weekends!

Caroline's POV

"Where's Klaus?" I ask Emily, rubbing my eyes awake as I take a seat on the stool in front of the island counter.

"He headed out early this morning, I didn't even get to say goodbye. He seemed frustrated, mad, maybe? Did something happen between you last night?" she questions, putting away the dirty dishes into the cabinets.

The fact Klaus seemed mad makes me feel slightly guilty, even though I know I shouldn't be. I have no reason, I did nothing wrong. He was the one being irrational, not allowing me to leave the house.

"Well everything was going really well, we came back from dinner and he showed me the wine cellar and we drank a little and talked-"

"And then what?"

"And then we sort of got into an argument about him not trusting me enough to leave the house by myself for a day. It's like he doesn't want me to have any freedom, yet he feels about about keeping me locked up all day. It makes no sense. He makes no sense," I sigh, running a hand through my hair.

Emily hands me a cup of coffee to which I graciously take, sipping down the hot liquid as I attempt to calm my nerves.

"Klaus is a confusing individual, I'll give him that. However, he also cares about people deeply, and the few he does care for, he wants to keep protected. I think he feels differently towards you because you're not a vampire. He wants to keep you safe, sweetheart. I know it's hard to accept and understand but you must realize he has good intentions," she smiles, gently squeezing my shoulder in comfort.

I frown, not wanting to accept it. I want to portray him as this monster, but I know deep down there is a part to him that's good...

"Why is life so confusing, Emily?"

She laughs, shaking her head.

"Darling, if only I had the answer to that," she grins, talking off her apron and setting it aside. She hands me a plate of breakfast, and I thank her for it,

"If you need anything, I'll be upstairs cleaning."

"Okay, thank you for breakfast once again," I smile, truly thankful for the older woman.

"No problem, sweetheart. And don't fret about the situation. I know Klaus. He'll come to his senses soon enough and will let you leave the house by yourself for a day. He just needs a little time. He's not one to trust easily," she winks, scampering off upstairs, leaving me to finish my breakfast.

It's nearing midnight, and Klaus isn't back yet. I find myself worrying slightly. I don't know why, but I do get nervous about his safety. Obviously he can take care of himself, he is the oldest living vampire after all.

I yawn, scanning through the channels and landing on the local news. Nothing better on at this hour.

"Reports of numerous killings near local bar, Ruby's, have left many people worried for their safety. The area is currently being inspected by police and we will have further details on the attacks soon. Witnesses say they think it was 'some type of animal', with most of the victims having their necks wounded by some sort of bite mark. More on the subject coming soon," the blonde haired news reporter states, a frown on her face as if this was not her first time hearing about this type of situation.

I feel my heart beat faster, the possibility of the attacker being Klaus making my nervousness multiply by the second.

I look around, making sure Emily wasn't up to hear anything as I tiptoe towards the front door. I slip on my shoes and jacket, unlocking the front latch of the door. I know if Klaus catches me out of the house I'll never get to leave again, but it's worth the risk.

If it is him killing, I need to stop him.

I close the door behind me, scampering over to the numerous expensive cars parked in the driveway. I peer inside, thanking god to see the keys still in the car.

I open the door and climb into the drivers seat, turning the engine on. Should I really be doing this?

If Klaus finds out he would kill me.

I take a deep breath, turning on the radio to tune out my own thoughts before I take off down the road. They said the killings were near Ruby's, which is just a few miles away. If it really was Klaus, I'm guessing he's still close by.

It takes a few minutes for me to arrive at the bar, the numerous cops blocking off any sort of entrance to the crime scene. The red and blue lights illuminate the bodies on the ground, and I gasp in shock, holding back my tears.

There's four of them, two boys and two girls, laying helpless on the ground, clearly dead. Their necks are agonizingly bloody, with multiple wounds drilled into their skin.

I look away, taking a deep breath. If Klaus did do these... these terrible acts... I don't know if I could ever forgive him, let alone look at him. The thought alone is simply horrifying.

To think I was starting to actually understand Klaus.

I pull my car into a parking lot just down the road from the crime scene, taking a minute to breathe. I take the keys out and open the door, shivering as I step outside into the unusually cold night.

The one street lamp is the only thing lighting up the dark night surrounding me. I clutch my arms, practically freezing. Why does it have to be so damn cold tonight?

A sudden crash coming from across the road grabs my attention. I quickly run in that direction, knowing very well it's a stupid plan but one that needs to happen.

I look at the title of the building before me, rolling my eyes. It's a strip club.

A sudden scream nearly makes my heart stop, and I instinctually run into the club. My heart drops when I see the image before me.

Klaus, with two defenseless girls at his mercy. His mouth is an awful blood stained red, and a wicked smirk rests upon his lips as his fangs dig into the innocent women. The dark lines under his eyes are enough to make me terrified.

His smirk disappears completely when he sees me, his eyes practically locked on mine. I tremble with fear, screaming into my hand to muffle the noise.

"W-what the fuck is wrong with you?!" I can't help but to yell at him, my emotions all over the place. I'm so scared of what's going to happen I can practically feel my heart beating out of my chest.

"Caroline, what do you think you're doing here?"

How are you guys? :)

What do you think Klaus is going to do now that he found out Caroline left the house without permission?
