I'm gonna be updating more frequently in the following weeks so I can finish this book and start a new one! So expect a few updates weekly! :)

Caroline's POV

I sigh, watching the rain fall from outside my window. I feel like Rapunzel, stuck in her tower- yet for me, my room.

Klaus gave me permission to roam around the house but for some reason I feel more comfortable up here. I don't want to face him, to talk to him- actually, if we never talked again I wouldn't be complaining.

I groan, finishing my third book this week. Reading has been the only thing keeping me occupied while I sit the days away up here. It's not like I can go anywhere, not anymore at least. All of my chances of getting out of the house for a day seem hopeless by now.

I refuse to give in to Klaus and forgive him, but at the same time, Emily wants me to at least give him another chance and I don't want to upset her in any way. Somehow she loves that idiot as if he were her own son.

I toss the fourth book aside, bored already and instead much more interested in all of the yelling going on downstairs.

I look outside the window, taking in the view of the perfectly polished black convertible sat in the driveway. I haven't seen it before, granted no one ever visits Klaus seeing as he's a maniac with severe anger issues.

I gain the courage to open the door, the yelling only amplifying. I can make out Klaus's booming voice immediately, his accent rich and clearly angry.

The other two are recognizable as well- his siblings.

"Nicklaus you're not listening to us!" a male voice yells, calmly however. Elijah?

"Oh I'm not listening?! So you can simply waltz into my home and start blaming me for killing a few people as if you haven't ever before?!" Klaus argues back, standing his ground.

I roll my eyes at his stubbornness. Even with his siblings, he won't ever back down from an argument.

"Nick, we're just trying to protect you. You don't have to yell at us and try to pick a fight! All we're saying is that these killings are going to catch up to you if they continue. You were messy with them, it's unlike you. You left people uncompelled, they saw you and everything!" Rebekah's clear voice states.

I tiptoe down the stairs, catching a small glimpse of the three in the kitchen.

Silence fills the room as all three of them turn to me in unison. I blush, forgetting about their abnormal super hearing.

Klaus's once harsh, angered gaze softens.

"Caroline... I'm sorry about the noise," he apologizes as if it were only me in the room with him.

I nod, shrugging it off.

"It's okay. I just wanted to make sure everything was alright," I tell him and the others.

Klaus's eyes meet mine for a second before turning away to his siblings.

"We'll continue this discussion later. You can see yourselves out I presume," he mutters, still annoyed by the fight that occurred only seconds before.

"Brother-"

"Goodbye, Elijah," Klaus cuts him off, walking away.

Elijah frowns at his dismissive gesture, Rebekah's features copying his.

"It was good to see you again, Caroline," Elijah sends me a gentle smile on the way out the door.

"Yeah, you too."
