Thomas and Ruby were approached by a male Empoleon, who told Thomas it was time for his training.

The couple were shocked and confused, unable to process what this stranger wanted.

Thomas POV

"Who are you?" I asked the Empoleon, who just shook his head.

"I am Scar, and I am going to be your personal trainer but that means you won't be allowed to be with your girlfriend over the weekends, and or holidays. No family member will be seeing you until the end of the tournament, a-"

"Oh shut it! I don't care who you are, and what you want! If you're going to be taking me away from my loved ones for who knows how long, I'm not going anywhere!" I was getting very mad at him, but before I could keep going he silenced me.

"Enough, I wasn't asking. If you want to win against all of the nightmares that will be entering the tournament you're going to train." Scar said, still with his low voice.

Before I could go at it again, Ruby stopped me. "Thomas, just go with him. For all we know he could be one of James' friends who he asked to help you." Ruby said, being calm and caring.

I was a little shocked, but she could be right. My brother probably did send him to train me. "Fine..but, a little change has to happen, bucko. Weekends and holidays are my times to see them."

Scar had a thoughtful look on, obviously thinking about the terms of my agreement.

I was already starting to get impatient, my foot tapping against the ground rapidly. "Well?"

"Very well. You start tomorrow, after school. Meet me in the fields outside of town." The tall penguin pokemon said, starting to walk off.

When I blinked once, he was gone. Like nothing even happened.

"That was...something else." Ruby said softly, taking my paw again. "Lets go, the weather is already getting bad."

Once again, she was right. The wind was picking up, plus a lot of snow was starting to fall from the sky. Just great, a snowstorm.

Myself and Ruby began to hurriedly walk to my home, not wanting to get caught in this storm.

Once there, I closed the door and made sure that it was staying closed. James wasn't back yet but that gave us time to warm up to some hot chocolate.

Ruby seemed slightly nervous about something, not only could I tell from the way she looked but through her aura.

"What's wrong?" I asked her, slightly worried about her.

"N-Nothing, I just don't know if I can walk home tonight." Ruby replied. She wasn't lying, I didn't want her to walk home in this either.

"Well, you could spend the night here again. If you wanted to." I offered, and I was right, she nodded quickly.

"C-Can we go to bed early?" Ruby asked, her somewhat French accent coming through her voice again. Something I don't hear often unless she really wanted to do something.

"Yes we can." I replied, taking her paw gently with my own.

Once we were done with our drinks we went up to my room and went to bed, sleeping.

After school the next day

I went to the fields as asked yesterday, and as soon as I arrived there he was. Scar was just standing there with his arms crossed.

"So, you actually came." Scar said, his low and quiet voice able to be heard. The field was empty and quiet, making him easy to hear unlike yesterday.

"What's the training." I asked, still not able to trust him. What do you expect? Me to just trust a stranger who said that he was going to train me?

Scar just chuckled lowly. "That," He said, pointing at me, "is what I call impatience. So that is what we will be working on first."

I grumbled a little, maybe I was a little too impatient but that's who I am. "How?" I asked.

"By making you wait for certain things. Now then, wait for me to strike." Scar said, making me go into battle position.

But when he didn't strike, I was already getting impatient. "Strike me!" I said sternly

"This is what I'm talking about. You can't even wait for a strike." Scar said, only to suddenly strike at me.

I wasn't even ready now, his attack connected which made me slide back due to the snow under my feet. "What! I wasn't even ready!"

"Exactly, if you aren't ready for anything due to your impatience, it will be your downfall." Scar replied simply, crossing his arms again.

I couldn't believe this, my arm was now sore as heck and he was already doubting me, just great!

He threw a slash at me again, but this time I countered it with a shadow claw. "Good move, but not enough." He then threw his other arm with a slash, which connected this time making me fly back and hit the ground.

I coughed a little, seeing as he hit my chest. Which was already starting to hurt from the cold air. "Arceus...he's strong.." I grunted out, slowly getting up.

Scar crossed his arms again. "You are not ready to fight me yet. So we must go for another approach."

I growled a little. "Are you trying to say I'm we-" "I am not trying saying anything, I'm saying you are not ready to fight me." Scar interrupted me, walking to the forest.

I grumbled and followed, I was already starting to hate this.

Throughout the afternoon he made me balance on thin logs, dodge larger logs while blindfolded, and even HIT trees.

It was getting very annoying but he soon sent me home. Along the way home i had the weirdest feeling I was being followed.

Every corner I went around I glared back only to see nothing. I was getting more impatient by the second.

But around one corner, I turned quickly and pinned whoever it was that was following me, against a wall. "Who are you!"

"Get off me!" The male snapped, kicking me away from him. "Calm down!" He said, revealing and Infernape.

"Tell me who you are!" I growled out, getting into fighting stance.

"Oh stop, I'm the cocky one here. And let's just say, the name is Inferno." The Infernape said, smirking at me.

"That name can't possibly be real." I said, not exactly believing what he said.

He just chuckled. "I was given the name at birth, so that's my name. Now I've seen you've been training with Scar."

I grumbled a little. "How do you know him." I asked.

"Oh I just know him." He replied, still with that cocky attitude. "And I don't suggest training with him, because you won't be able to beat me in the tournament anyways." He taunted me. "So just give up!" He said, starting to walk off.

I turned quickly and just made my paws into fists, continuing to walk. "I'm going to beat him..no matter what.."

And so ends another chapter, will Thomas be able to defeat Inferno at the tournament? Or will he even reach the battle against him? Who knows, that's for later on anyways.
