You were standing outside the diner at 7:30, your heart slowing starting to sink realizing that you had been stood up by Steve. You stepped inside and slid in the booth pulling out your phone. You flipped through Facebook as the rain continued pour outside. Sasha had shared a post from the local news.
During the beginning of the unusual storm lighting had struck the local park multiple times, taking four trees down and leveling out a few playgrounds in the process. You looked over the photos, the ground was completely scorched, the grass was black. Thick trees snapped in half, twisted metal from the playground laying strewn about.
Thank god you had to work during your evening run. The world works in weird ways, maybe you should by a lotto ticket. Twice in 24hrs you should of been where catastrophe struck. You looked at the clock on your phone as you waited, 7:45.
The ding on the door cause you to lift your head, Bucky gave you a warm smile as he crossed the floor you. A small cut over his left eye, you tried to remember if it had been there earlier. He saw you glance at it, bringing his fingers up to it.
"Yeah, Sam and I were trying to teach some of the new guys how to fight." He chuckled, holding out his elbow for you. Gladly you took it looking up at him.
"What do you do anyway?" You asked as you left the diner.
"I work in free lance security." He shrugged for . "When my boss calls I go where he sends me."
"Are you on call tonight?" You asked, a part of you worried that this would be a bust as well.
"No, I made sure to leave my work phone with Sam. I am all yours tonight." He smiled over at you, you bit down on your lip as excitement washed over you.
It didn't seem like long before you realized that somehow you were on the other side of town. It wasn't a very good neighborhood, regular fights broke out over here, and to be honest it frighten you that he was comfortable on this side. He held the door open to a bar you'd never heard of Dark Reign.
"Trust me, you'll be safe here, so long as I am with you." He smiled at you coyly, you took a deep breath and walked in.
It was dimly lit, the walls were painted a deep crimson, and it was busy. Bodies packed in closely together at the bar counter. Your chest heaved a bit as you inhaled deeply, Bucky placed his hand at the small of your back. You looked over your shoulder at him, his warm smile calming you down.
"Trust me." He repeated, slowly moving his hand from your back, lacing his fingers in with yours. He led you the counter, holding two of his fingers up, catching the red heads attention.
"Nat!" He yelled over the voices, she grinned when she looked over. Confidence and sex appeal oozed from her as she walked to the both you.
"Bucky, how ya doing man? Haven't seen you in a while." She said leaning over the counter giving him a hug. "And who is the stunner next to you?"
You felt yourself blush at her comment, her intense gaze sweeping over your body.
"Nat, this is y/n." He introduced you before turning to you. "Natasha is one of the best bar tenders in the city."
"One of?" She cocked her head at him.
"Okay, the best." He laughed, pulling you close to him as people started to look over.
"You want something, doll." He asked you softly.
"Just a beer." You shrugged, looking around, most of the people in here reminded you of the biker type, or hit men. Big burly men clad in leather, women in fuck me high heels, you felt massively out of your comfort zone.
"Anything in particular, sweetheart?" Natasha purred, bringing your attention back to her. She licked her lips as she looked down your body again.
"No." You breathed, feeling oddly attracted to her, your brain trying to resist whatever pull was going on.
"Nat." You heard Bucky growl, his head lowering as he stared her down.
"Come on, Buck, just having a little fun with the girl." She laughed, turning and grabbing a couple of beers handing them to him.
"Not tonight, and not her." He hissed low enough you didn't hear him, his eyes flicking to black for a second as you looked around.
"So defensive." She stated coyly, as Bucky led you away from the counter.
"This is definitely different then what I'm use to." You tell him as he took you to a table on the side of the bar.
"Yeah, I used to come here lot." He tells you as he sits down.
"No offense but you don't seem the type to hang out in a place like this." You say, looking back at him, his dark blue eyes looking deep into your eyes.
"And why is that?" He asked, putting the bottle to his lips tilting it back.
"I dunno, the place seems very rough, and tense. Like a fight could break out at any time and you, you don't seem like that kind of person." You press your lips together, you couldn't figure it out. Something about him seemed to be a walking contradiction, his eyes were sweet and soft, but he still held that bad boy vibe.
"I've been in more then my fair share of fights." You could tell by his tone it wasn't him bragging or being boastful, it was more of truth then anything else.
"I believe that." He studied you for a moment, you had the wholesome quality about you, the one that made most women turn away from him. The ones that shy away from people who admit to fights the way he just did but you just accepted it.
"You play pool?" He asked, leaning back in the booth, rubbing his chin.
"Horribly." You chuckle, slightly relieved by the change of subject.
"Has anybody ever showed you how?" He raised his eye brow at you.
"Yes, people have tried." You laugh. "Trust me, no matter what, I can't play to save my life."
"Then it looks like you haven't had a good teacher." He grins wickedly at you sliding out of the booth, snagging your hand. He pulls you to the table. Quickly he racks the balls as you watch him dumbfounded.
"First things first, you gotta get a good tight rack." He winks at you, walking over to the wall pulling a stick off the wall, testing the weight before coming back. He hands it over to you, you sigh before taking it from him. "Next you have to have the right stance."
Bucky takes his coat off, tossing it in the nearest table, your eyes glided over his upper body. His black shirt clung to him for dear life, and for the first time you notice his metal arm. He doesn't give you a chance to look for long before walking around behind you.
He pulled you tightly back to him, placing a foot betweens yours kicking one out away from the table. You loose your balance briefly, his arms around you keeping you from falling. His breath hot against your shoulder.
"Alright Doll, now you gotta shift your hips just slightly to the table." He whispered, his hands finding your waist, pivoting you, his body still flush against your back. You felt your breath catch in the back of your throat. You felt him lean forward, pushing your upper body down. "Now you gotta lean forward and line the cue ball, that white one, up with the rest."
You tried to keep your breathing even, but his whole body made yours feel like it was on fire. The way he held your hips still, you could feel the strength in his hands. His low voice sent shivers down your spine.
"Here is the most important part about breaking the rack." He said in your ear, he reached his arms around you, fixing your hold on the pool stick. "Take a couple slow strokes to line up the shot, then when your ready give it one hard thrust."
His word were sinfully slow as he spoke clearly in your ear enunciating each word carefully. His hands traveled back up your arms leaving goosebumps in their wake. You tried to control the shutter your body did under his touch. His breath heavy in your ear, as you lined up the shot.
Slowly you took a couple strokes before thrusting the stick forward as he instructed. The white ball smacked hard into the small triangle sending the balls scattering across the table. Your heart leapt up in as excitement washed through you. You stood quickly, throwing your arms around his neck, Bucky wrapped his arm around your back, glaring at the room filled with demons who were eyeing you as lunch. She's mine! He thought to himself.
