Special Ability [Alec Volturi]

Chapter Five

Alice, Bella, Rosalie and I came back from a quick hunt. I felt amazing and alive. My strength back to a full and my features sharp once again. Alice, Bella and Rosalie went inside to help Eseme with the little one but I just stopped in the yard and leaned against a tree. I fell down into the pile of leaves and twigs that lay on the forest floor.

"Lost in thought?" a voice spoke beside me. I jumped at the sound of Alec's voice, I was so lost in thought that I couldn't even hear Alec come up behind me but now he just stood beside me as I looked up at him.

"Just a little." I admitted.

"Come with me." Alec smiled and held out his hand to help me up off the ground. I nodded and took his hand lifting myself off the ground and brushing off the leaves from my jeans. Alec held a firm grip on my bicep and pulled, running fast threw the forest; hidden from the rain that was pouring.

"Where are we going?" I asked over the rush of water.

"I'm not sure." He spoke with a deep chuckle. Alec rushed toward the rocks that built a cave over running water and stood looking over the water, a place where the four elements consist in the world. "Show me what you can do." Alec commanded but gave a sweet smile that made it more of a question. I crossed my arms slightly and hesitated in even trying but I loosened my grip and used my fingers to focus all my energy on the stream of water causing it to become a whirl pool that lifted into the air. I suspended the water in the air as I used my left hand to focus another part of my energy to lift a large bolder from the wall. Alec was silent but quickly the breeze picked up and created a large gust of wind surrounding us. Alec just watched with a sparkle of amazement in his eyes. I slowly descended the water and bolder but the wind just picked up as Alec stepped closer to me. He reached out to take my hand a brushed my fingers.

"Don't touch me." I told him, taking my hand away.

"Why not?" Alec spoke in almost a whisper.

"It's for your own safety." I let out in a whimper but Alec just took my hand tracing his fingers against the palm of my hand. I felt the wind pick up surrounding us as a dark black cloud flooded my vision. I felt a sting as my hand closed over Alec's and he gasped for air. I wanted to let go but my muscles wouldn't connect with my brain. Alec kept gasping and looked like he was about to drop dead but I pulled away roughly. The dark cloud faded and Alec gasped for unneeded air as he pressed his hand to his chest like he forgot how breathing felt. "Alec, I am so sorry. I can't always control it." I cried out dropping drown to my knees against the wet rocks. Alec gained his strength and got down to my level, rubbing my back.

"Poppy, you have no idea what power you have." Alec said in a shock tone. "I can help you control it but, Poppy, there are many people in this world who would want to have you to themselves good or bad. At all costs." Alec spoke fierce and protective. I understood what he meant.
