"Always....remember that...I'm....proud of...you" I remembered Dad saying before he died.

"I was never proud of you...I wish you weren't my daughter..." I remembered Mom saying when I got average grades in school.

"Ugh, can you, like, get out of here? I don't want my boyfriend and my friends to see that I'm related to you, Elysha" I remembered my dear oldest sister, Melissa, saying, when both of us were still studying. I was at my elementary years and she was at college in Summer University.

"You'll never make your family proud," I remembered Cassandra telling me when she betrayed me as her friend.

........................................

"Why did you have a 90?! You're supposed to be having 96 and above! Are you even studying?!" Mom shouted.

"Y-yes, I study everyday, Mom.." I managed to say while tears were running down my face.

"Well, it doesn't look like it," Mom replied.

"Mom, I see her studying everynight and day......even if there are times that she doesn't even need to study, she still studies in advance.." Dylan said, defending me.

I smiled weakly at him.

"Shut up, Dylan! And what have 'you' been doing, huh? Skateboarding with your friends at the park again?! And going to your friend's house again" Mom asked, practically yelling at him.

"You're right at the whole skateboard hang out, but not about me going at my friend's house. I'm not that type of guy and I'm not that type of son, Mom! If you even treat me like a son....." Dylan protested but muttering the last part.

"What did you say? I work day and night for this family and you're telling me that I'm not treating you like my son?!" Mom asked.

"Are you sure you're working 'day and night' for this family? I remember seeing you, Mom. At. The. Bar. Dad is the one who is having sleepless nights in the office to give money in this family. And you, Mom? Singing in bars, to make a living...or were you just taking shots and inviting Melissa to join you?!" I defended. I was having enough of her being dramatic and telling lies to us.

Mom slapped me.

"Don't talk to me like that! I am still your mother!" She yelled.

"Kaley, enough! You're hurting Victoria!" Dad shouted, picking me off the ground.

"Oh, your taking 'her' side?! Your daughter just told me that I wasn't working for this family!" Mom yelled at Dad.

"That doesn't give you the right to hurt 'our' daughter! And I'm pretty sure Dylan and Victoria are studying hard everyday. Victoria is a valedictorian in their class! And Dylan has 1st honorable mention in his class! Isn't that enough? And don't accuse Dylan of going to his friend's house, when you're the one who's out all night, leaving the kids here at the house while I'm at work..." Dad protested.

"Melissa's with Mom......me and Dylan are often alone here..." I added, earning a glare from Mom.

"See? You can't even act like a Mom for 'our' kids!" Dad said.

"She can't even act like a mature adult..." I muttered.

"Shut up, Victoria!" Mom yelled at me.

"Don't yell at Victoria! She's only 7! And she's right, you can't even go home without being drunk. This needs to stop, Kaley. It's not good for you and our family. Everynight, I go home, and it's either your shouting at Victoria or hurting her.... She's our youngest daughter, you should be soft for her! Why do you hate her so much?! She's always trying her best to make us proud but you act like she's nothing." Dad said.
