(Y/n)'a pov:

"Hey (y/n)! Wanna go to the carnival? I hear its in town!" Calum exclaimed.

Calum and I had been best friends for as long as you could remember. He was always there for me from thick and thin. Though recently I had developed quite the crush on my bestie. I knew he couldn't feel the same because I thought he never looked at me the way that I looked at him.

"Yeah! I would love to, do you want to go right now ?" I smiled. Calum nodded in response and we both headed out the door. The carnival was only a few minutes out of town so the ride wouldn't be so long.

"...and then I said 'Hey! If your going to play Just Dance on the wii at least put some boxers on!" Calum said, telling me about how he was woken up by Luke and Michael playing the wii at 4 in the morning and Luke was naked.

Unable to contain my laughter, I clutched my stomach, tears rolling down my eyes at the hilarious story. Calum just looked at me in awe. I saw him staring but thought nothing of it. He was just laughing at how crazy I looked. Right?

The rest of the ride was spent with us screaming out songs that played on the radio and laughing at how ridiculous we both sounded. "Here we are ma lady." Calum said putting on his best english accent.

"Why thank you kind sir." I giggled as he opened the door for me. This year the carnival was bigger than all the years that I've been. I ran towards the entrance leaving Calum behind, but he quickly caught up. We both ride all the rides even the little kid ones getting weird looks from the parents and the kids too.

"(y/n), oh my god, we haven't ridden the ferris wheel! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!" Calum cheered.

"Oh okay." I said getting tugged by Calum. This ride was the least I had been looking forward to. I had an insane fear of heights and got so scared on high rides like this. I never told Calum because I had always gave an excuse not to get on, but now I were too caught in the moment that I couldn't think of anything to say.

We were climbing the steps to get on the seat. I was praying that it would mysteriously break down, but I wasn't lucky. "Uh (y/n) are you alright? You don't look too good." Calum asked, worry in his eyes.

"I'm, uh, I'm great, yeah, never better!" I cringed as we kept going higher and higher.

"Shit, are you afraid of heights?" He asked frantically, trying to think of something to do.

"Y-yeah, I have acrophobia" I spoke keeping my eyes screwed shut. Calum scooted over to me and hugged me, while caressing my arms.

"Shh, it's going to be ok, just think of something that makes you happy." He whispered. Right then and there, my mind went straight to all the memories we had shared. Was I falling in love with my best friend?

"Hey, (y/n), look at me." he said, as he cupped my face, moving towards me. "It's all gonna be alright, we're gonna go to the very top and stay there for a few minutes, but don't worry, I'll hold you tight." he said with a smug smile. The way he spoke so tender and soft made my stomach do backflips. Apart of me wanted to be stopped up on the very top, just to have Calum wrap his big strong arms around me.

We were now at the very top and had been like this for a while. We didn't speak, just enjoyed the noise of laughter going on underneath us. I felt calm and relaxed and for a few seconds, I had forgotten we were 100 feet above the ground, because Calum made me feel so safe. I looked up at him, only to find his eyes were already on me.

We looked at each other for a few seconds before he started to lean in, but stopped looking at my eyes as if he was asking for permission. I guess my eyes looked as if I was saying yes. He leaned more in and kissed me. I smiled into the kiss and so did he. My body felt as if it was on fire and fireworks were being set off everywhere. I could stay like this forever. I slowly pulled away when the ferris wheel began to move again. His cheeks held a rosy tone and I'm sure mine were as red as tomatoes.

"I really like you, (y/n). I have for a while now actually." He gushed, running his fingers through my hair.

"I really like you too, Calum." I softly spoke.

Ferris wheels were now my favorite ride in the carnival as long as I had Calum there beside me.
