Hanschen woke up the next morning to moritz violently shaking him awake. He groaned as he turned over, "What do you want?" He muttered in a low, raspy voice. "Please hanschen, It's about Ernst." Hanschen quickly looked to his left and saw Ernst still fast asleep. "What's wrong? Is it serious?" He asked with concern in his voice. Ernsts eyes began to flutter open and moritz sighed. "Just...come with me." Confused, hanschen slowly got up out of the hospital bed and followed moritz. "I'll be right back ok?" He reassured Ernst with a kiss on the forehead, who was already drifting back to sleep. Once they got into the hallway, moritz quietly closed the door and turned to hanschen: tears in his eyes. "Im so sorry hanschen, but ernst... e-ernst only has 1 hour left to live." It was at that moment that hanschens little queer heart shattered, tears appearing in his eyes and a knot forming in his stomach. "N-no, NO!" He screamed, earning himself a few concerned glances from passing nurses. "H-HE CAN'T GO YET, NOT NOW!" He shouted, shaking moritz's shoulders in distress. He slammed open Ernsts door, and rushed inside, hopping back into his bed and scooping him up: sobbing into his shoulder. Ernst jerked awake, his face was pale and his eyes had countless bags under them. "H-hanschen?" He choked out in a low, weak voice. He didn't answer, he just buried his face deeper into Ernsts shoulder and let his tears fall. Ernst began to panic. "H-hanschen? What's w-wrong?" He asked curiously. Hanschen was at a loss for words, but began stuttering through his sobs. "P-please, d-d-don't g-go" he said weakly as he sobbed even harder into Ernsts shoulder. Ernst stared at him, confused: until a doctor entered his room, various charts in hand. "Mr.Robel" he adressed in a loud voice, making hanschen jump. "Yes sir?" Ernst asked nervously as hanschen awkwardly got off of his bed, tears still running down his cheek as he turned away. "I am so sorry..."

"But im going to have to take you off of life support"

His words pierced Ernsts heart and his eyes welled up with tears. He knew this moment was bound to come, but why did it have to be now?

Ernst looked down, not saying anything. The doctor sighed and approached the exit. "You have 15 minutes, then im coming back to start the procedure" he quietly closed the door behind him, and Ernst began to sob uncontrollably. Hanschen couldn't take this, he collapsed onto ernsts hospital bed and ernst pulled him into his chest, both of them in hysterics: crying to the point where their throats were sore and eyes were puffy. Tears still running down his face, Ernst slowly lifted hanschens chin.

"Hanschen, please: please just promise me one thing." He choked out through sniffles.

"Of course my love, what is it?" Hanschen shakily responded as he rested his head back on Ernsts chest.

"Never let go." He whispered into hanschens ear, causing his grip around ernsts waist to get even tighter

"Never in a thousand years" he whispered back as he began to choke up again. They snuggled in scilence, until Ernsts door suddenly slammed open, causing both of them to jump.

"Ernst Robel, we are ready to begin the procedure"
