_____________________________"Noah?"
"Hey, Carmen".
_____________________________"Oh my God Noah?". She asked, still in awe, her mouth agape and her hands trembling with happiness.
"You're really here". She whispered before pulling him into a tight hug. She could feel tears threatening to pour out but she care, she let them. She let the tears pour.
"I missed you so much". Noah whispered while playing with her short silky hair. "I missed you too". She said as they finally split apart.
"Why are you crying?". Noah's face scrunched up in confusion.
"I'm just really happy". She said quietly, her gaze dropped to the ground, she found herself counting the stones that were by her feet.
She could feel him staring at her. She knew that if she didn't leave soon, she would burst out crying and she couldn't let that happen. She couldn't drag him down with her.
"Don't lie to me, Carmen". He said softly as though she would break if he spoke any louder.
Maybe she would.
She looked up at him with the best smile she could muster. "I really have missed you Noah but I have to go". She pointed to her house. "Let me give you my number". She said.
She collected his phone from him and hastily typed in her phone number then saved it. "Here". She gave him his phone back and smiled.
"I'll call you".
"Yeah". She smiled again. "Bye, be safe".
He turned back to look at her as he had already started leaving. "I live right next door to you, Carmen". He said.
"You do?!". Her mouth, once again was agape.
"Yeah Carmen, I do". He laughed and continued on his way.
Carmen was confused. She wasn't sure if she was happy or scared. Maybe both.
Maybe mother will leave him be this time.
Maybe Greyson wouldn't push him away.
Maybe she was more afraid that he would find out how broken she was. Would he leave?.
Would he try to fix her?.
Carmen used to be glass. She was clear, happy, quite different from the person she was now. She used to be jubilant and fearless, until they broke her. They broke her so much that nothing was left of her but the dust that the shattered glass had left behind.
And glass couldn't be fixed once it was broken.
Deep down she knew that Noah couldn't fix her. No one could.
But maybe she would let him try.

"Carmen is that you?". Claudia asked as Carmen stepped through the door.
"Yes mother". She sighed.
"Come here".
Carmen shuffled slowly to were her mother was sat.
"Yes mother?". She asked impatiently.
Claudia looked up from her laptop which she had been typing on previously.
"Sit". Carmen did as she was told.
"Kelsey's coming back tomorrow to stay for a month. She will be using your room so I suggest that you sleep in the basement while she's here, since there's a bed and everything down there". She stated as though it was no big deal.
"Mother I cannot sleep down there, there're rats and spiders and only God knows what's down there". Carmen complained.
"Then I suggest you start cleaning"
"I'm 20 years old!". She yelled, loosing her temper. Her body shook with anger, she felt her insides boil and her skin turned cold.
"You dare use that tone with me Carmen?". Claudia threatened in a low voice, dropping her laptop as she stood.
"Why do you treat me like this?". Carmen asked quietly, although her anger was still intact.
"Because Carmen". Claudia whispered. "You are worthless and the biggest mistake in my life". She laughed angrily."I never should have kept you".
She walked past her mother, up the stairs and into her room, making sure to lock it.
She sobbed.
When she was finally safely in her room, she sobbed, she cried because she knew no one would hear her, no one would ask if she was okay.
Because she was not.
No one knew why.
Not even Olivia.

She pulled her hair into a ponytail as she finished up her make up, she slightly highlighted her cheek bones, closing her makeup bag she sighed and walked to her closet to pick out her outfit for the day.
She wore a nude colored tight fitting skirt which stopped a few inches below her knees and paired it with a white off-shoulder top.
She had wedges on her feet and held her brown Gucci bag.
Pathetic
She looked at herself in the mirror and said it again although this time she wasn't sure if she was speaking of herself or of her mother.
You're pathetic.
She shut her eyes, blinking back the tears. Why couldn't it be over?.
She let out a breath and proceeded to walk downstairs.
"You look good". Claudia complemented.
"Thank you". She said softly.
She sat on the other side of the table her mother was seated on and started pouring herself some cereal.
"No cereal today Carmen". Claudia stopped her. "Have some fruit". She pointed at the fruit and basket before her.
"I haven't eaten well in days". She pleaded.
"Fruit". Her mother said firmly.
"Okay".
