Sorry for the extremely late update, but here you go!
Cameron’s POV
“How was your day?” my mom asks me when I walk through the door.
“Guess what?” I say, practically jumping out of my skin with the news.
“What?” she says.
“The school is letting us drive to school and park there now. I got an email today.” I’m old for my grade and have had my license since the end of ninth grade, since I turned 16 in the beginning of the summer. I have a car and have wanted to drive it to school since I got it.
Tomorrow is the first day of school, and now I can drive Jos there. Jos and I have been dating for a little while now and we have been in our share of arguments, but all I have to do to calm her fuelling anger is force her to hug me. She’s the kind of girl who hates people touching her unless she feels strongly about them, and in our case she loves when I touch her.
Today, Jos is visiting her cousins a couple hours away. I spending time with Justin, which mostly consists of him teasing me about having a girlfriend and me messing with him for being a major stoner. So basically the same as always, except the girlfriend thing of course.
Joslyn’s POV
My cousins were bothering the shit out of me back at the house. Their constant nagging and screaming was giving me a headache. I decided to take a walk to escape the awfulness before I exploded.
As I pass the houses, it suddenly registers that I haven’t spoken to Cameron in a while. I decide to call him.
Dialing his number, my fingers begin to sweat with the all-consuming heat. I press the call button and bring the phone to my ear.
“Hi beautiful, how’s it going?” he answers on the second ring. His voice helps my tense muscles relax a little more, and my steps slow.
“Oh wonderful, I just love to listen to little kids scream and whine all day long.” I say sarcastically. There’s a faint noise coming from behind me that sounds like a car engine. I don’t think much of it since I am walking outside.
“The little ones getting to you?” he says, chuckling.
“You could say that.” I say with a grunt.
The noise is growing closer and it isn’t till I really listen that I realize how quickly it’s getting louder.
“Cam, hold on,” I say slowly.
I turn around to be faced with the grill of a Ford F-150.
