Somewhere on a remote desert island... No that won't work.
Lost deep in the Amazon jungle... geez, that's even cheesier than the first one!
Aboard an undersea ship... alright, that one was just plain lame.
Sighing to myself, I crumpled up the piece of notebook paper that I was writing on and threw it into the trashcan. Ideas could usually come to me within the first ten minutes of sitting at my desk, but I just keep drawing a blank. My short story was due in two days and had to be at least ten pages when it was typed. I never outline my stories, but they always turned out well. My professor loved reading what I wrote and often shared them with the others in his department.
Right when I was about to start on another story idea, my cell phone began to ring in the next room. My feet were curled under me on my leather swivel chair so it took me three phone rings and two falls to reach it. How a person can trip on carpet twice is beyond me.
"Hello?" I questioned the caller while rubbing the rug burn on my elbows.
"MORGAN! What're you doing tonight?" Amelia asked me quite excitedly while loud music played in the background.
"I planned on ordering in pizza and watching a movie while I try to write this stupid story for English. Why?" I said off-handedly while also trying to decide what type of pizza I wanted. That is also the reason I didn't catch half of what I was agreeing to.
"WOAH, what are we doing again?" came out of my mouth before I thought about it.
"Geez, were you not even listening? I said that there was a new club that opened and some friends wanted us to go with. I'll be at your place in about twenty minutes." And then the line went dead.
This will not end well...
Will edit once I get a few chapters up! I promise.
