I got a call.

My phone was buzzing on my nightstand early on a Saturday morning. I wasn't sure who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to wake the beast before her stamina was replenished it.

"Hello?" I answered, clearly coming off as an irritable twat. But I didn't care.

"Hannah. I want to see you." Was all that Ashton said. I coughed awkwardly, growing uncomfortable.

I wasn't sure if he meant that he wanted to hang out as friends and have like a civilized conversation with me or if he just wanted to touch me in areas that a bikini covers.

I stretched my limbs out whilst yawning. "Did you seriously call me at eight in the morning to say that? My eye bags are not happy, Ashton." I complained lamely.

"Yeah, well I just wanted to see you."

Yep. There went the feels.

"Alright, but it's going to be tough because Luke is leaving for your soon so we are trying to spend a lot of time together." I explained reluctantly.

I know Ashton didn't enjoy my brother's company either.

He sighed audibly into the phone. "I know, there's not much I can do about that."

I was genuinely surprised he didn't have something to say about Luke. Then again, he didn't really know what was going on.

"Yeah, Ash, that sounds good. We have some things to discuss. Where do you want for meet up?" I asked softly, not trying to be too persistent.

He was silent, seemed to be contemplating what I asked. "How about you meet me at the second pier and we'll talk by the water."

The suggestion seemed nice, so I agreed before we hung up.

I tugged on a pastel colored bikini even thought I knew I wasn't going to be able to get in the water.

My hair was tossed up in a messy bun, while I kept my face bare since there was still a chance of it getting wet.

I found myself walking down the damp wood of the deserted second pier.

Everyone preferred the first pier since it was close to hotels, food, and the water was clearer.

This pier was always musty.

I saw a figure sitting at the edge of the pier, dangling his feet over the edge.

I sat next to Ashton calmly. "Hey," I said was quiet with him.

"Hey, Hanns. I've been thinking a lot lately." He seemed unsure of himself.

"I've been a total dick lately. You're a great person, I'm lucky to have you in my life." He whispered almost too quiet for me to hear.

I was sort of taken back. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that you have a condition which changes everything that this relationship was about. But, that doesn't mean that I don't want you to leave my life forever. I want this to work. Our friendship, I mean. It doesn't have to be weird."

"So you're saying all that whatever we had was all about the sex? You didn't even care about me, my feelings?" My voice cracked with the last word.

"Yeah, but it's different now." He shrugged.

Tears fell freely from my eyes. "There is no now."

So I've been thinking, do you guys want me to make these chapters a little longer. It's just a lot easier to write short ones because it takes less time.
