Chapter 6 ~~ Lost & Found.

Okay, so I really didn't like how my chapters were so short & didn't hold very much information so I have doubled the word count!

        When the bell rang, I follow the flow of teenagers. I'm not hungry right now but I'm not going to miss a chance to eat. I could always save it in my bag & eat it during my 6th period. Plus, if I skipped lunch, i'd miss my chance to make friends for Math class! No, that wasn't sarcasm.

        I stepped into the bathroom's at the the end of the hall to do my human business. We all do it, get the fuck over it. After washing my hands like a crazy person, (I hate germs), I touch up my make-up & fix my hair. Yeah, I should've used a little bit more hairspray. I just didn't want my hair to look cruchy when I was first doing my hair.

        Most of the students left to lunch so I head out into the dead heat of the day. At this school, you can eat indoors or there was 3 sections outside. The majority of the lunch lines were inside too, so there's always eyes on you when you go to get food.

        When I walk into the lunch room, I start to look for the longest line so I don't get some nasty food. See, it doesn't matter what sounds good to me, it's what everyone knows is good.

        "You look mighty lonely," a familiar voice said. I feel a large, warm hand settle on my lower back. It feels really good to be honest.

        I turn around to meet the eyes of the tall hot guy from the hall, yanno the one I slammed into? "Hey, it's you again. Can you stay & chat this time?" I smirk up at him.

        "Such high levels of sass! Such a sweet looking girl too!" I blush & notice him turn to greet the guy from math. Sam? I think that's his name. I'm obviously terrible with names.

        "Hey, Sam right? You're the guy from my math class! Wait, were you sent here to find me & kidnap me for Hailey?" I am now looking around for the girl with jet black hair.

        "Yea, my name is Sam. I was sent to," he made air quotes"find the new girl with a look that makes her look really lost or with some random dude drooling over her."

        I had to laugh at the last part. I'm just a new girl, shit! Seems like a really big deal here. I really don't want to leave.. Damn, I still don't know his name!

        "Hey," I say, looking away from Sam," I told you my name, if i'm going to be leaving you here, i need to know yours too!" I am smiling & chuckling at my dramatics.

        "Well, in that case... You seem to be out of luck. I don't remember my name at this time, please leave a message at the beep. BEEP!" Sam is shaking his head at him & turns to me, opening his mouth to tell me.

        "Veranyca, he is the imfamous--" the mystery guy shot Sam a look before he could finish. "Alright, no need to get your panties in a wad, dude. My lips are sealed."

        Dammit, i'm screwed. Not in the good way either! I huff & Sam desides to take this moment to start our journey to the table with Hailey & the others. I half-assed wave bye to mystery dude, Sam links our arms, & off we go. I relize I didn't even get me any food, which now that I am being pulled away from it, I want it that much more. I bet the group might share something with me, hopefully.

        Same & I wander out to the tables by the football fields, still linked.Hi might just be my favorite person so far today. At least I knew his name & he was being nice to me! I wonder if he's single. He's attractive, nice, funny, smart -- I know that because he finished the math packet first & was helping me on some really complicated problems -- he might be just what I need this year.

        "Veranyca?" Sam's looking at me all weird.

        "Sorry, what? I was kinda lost in my thoughts." I really shouldn't be thinking of him like that with him so close to me.

        " I asked if you were ready for all the questions you are going to be asked." Sam has a great smile. Mice teeth too. Shit, i'm doing it again.

        "Uh, I think?" I whisper as we walk up to the table.

        Sam was right, I was asked so many questions & if I didn't know the answer to one, I just ended up with another. I met new people too, sorta... There's the original people from math; Sam, Hailey, Cassi, Ben. Nate, & Jewels. Those 6 people are easy to remember, unlike that 4 others that never spoke to me so I never learned how to remember them. I got the vibe that Jewels is a lesbian, Cassi & Ben have something going on between them, & Nate is yearning after Hailey. Eh, not that I blame him.

        When the bell rang & we all grabbed all the junk food everyone had been snacking on, Nate draped his arm over my shoulders, heading away from all the group. 

        "Hey cutie, what's your next class?" Nate smiled down at me.

        "I'm headed to dance & then right next door to choir after that, why?" I am getting a bit nervous since I don't know Nate very well & we were now alone.

        "Yanno, I was headed that way anyways. I'll walk you, don't want any weirdos messing with such a nice girl." He started pulling me in the right direction, thankfully.

        His arm is really annoying me by the time we get to the doors. The 5 minute bell rang, Nate's arm still rubbing my neck raw.

        "Nate, you're going to be late. I appreciate you joining me, I just don't want you to get into any trouble." I look up at Nate, smile, & shrug his arm off.

        "You're probably right. Just be careful around here, people can be sorta strange." He waved & turned away, walking in the direction we just came from.

        When I pull open the door, I saw Nate, staring at me. He didn't move an inch. I flicked my hand in a nervous wave. I don't know what was up with Nate. Part of me was drawn in because he was very different, but on the other hand he was scaring the shit out of me.

        I made it to my dance class about 30 seconds late, not too bad. I still am uneasy on Nate when I walked in & locked eyes with someone I never expected to see.

        "Hey", a fimiliar voice said, "Fancy seeing you here."

        Here we go, again.
