"Hey, Rebecca." Logan smiled, waving to me as I opened my locker, Monday morning.
"Hey. What'd you do this weekend?" I asked, making conversation as I took all the necessary books out, and shut my locker. Facing Logan, we both walked off to first period- Art.
"Oh, I ate, hockey, ate, slept, hockey."
"Very productive, then." I chuckled.
"Oh, did you know Jack Holland and Aiden Michaels are both in the same team as me this year? They're the only people in our grade that joined hockey."
Yeah, it does seem strange since Hockey is a famous sport here, and last year at least a dozen guys from our year joined.
Logan and I placed our books on a couple of empty desks near the back. The front portion of the room was mostly occupied.
"So, who'd you get as a partner for English?" I gave him my full attention, raising my voice so he could hear me over the loud chatters of students around us.
"Thanks for that by the way. Since everyone already had partners, I was assigned with Snotty Sally." He shuddered, sitting down on his desk and facing me.
"Snotty Sally?" I laughed at the ridiculous nickname he came up with. Although, I had to admit it suits well for her. She always sniffs, and you could see dried snot above her mouth. Like, seriously, there's this very useful thing called a tissue that helps you from humiliation, and a sticky mess. I swear during lunch I've seen her eat some of her snot. Shuddering from the disgusting images, I instantly felt bad for Logan.
"Hah!" Well, not bad enough. It's pretty funny.
"BOO!" I let out the loudest, and most embarrassing squeal that caused the students to look our way. Clutching my chest, I turned around to see a beaming Jack, with Aiden standing next to him. I quickly composed myself, but still felt my face redden.
"Jack! It couldn't hurt to at least wait for me to turn around!"
"I would, since the view's really good back here, but..." I felt my face heat up again.
"Aww, look at that tomato face!" Logan silently squealed, and he and Jack started poking my cheeks. I slapped their hands away, and realized everyone was looking at us. Taking my lip in my mouth, and biting it, I quietly sat back on my desk, and tried to make myself as invisible as possible.
"Okay class! Back to your seats!" The sound of our teacher's oh wonderful voice screeching early this morning.
Looking over at the two boys who were previously humiliating me, four words suddenly popped into mind.
I am gonna kill them. Wait, that's five words. Oh well, I was close. I have no clue why I get all A's in my classes. If someone were to hear my thoughts, they'd think I'm a dorky-who-thinks-she's-a-know-it-all-but-she's-really-a-dumb-donkey-person.
After our forty-five minutes of boring lectures, we finally had options- and I chose music for it. I didn't know who else was in this class, because this was a mixture of grade 9's from different classes, but hopefully I'll make a friend. Jess chose Drama, since she couldn't make music for her life, but I guess we have different talents since the last time I attempted acting, my parents thought it I was demonstrating them bad acting. Yeah...they probably just hated me.
"Hey! Becca, what did you choose?" Logan suddenly popped from the crowd of students, and started pushing through people beside me.
"Music. What about you?" I turned my head to him, secretly hoping for him to choose the same option.
"Novel Studies. It wasn't my first option, but my first option was filled so I got stuck with the bookworms." He nudged me. "I expected you to be in novel studies ya know. With your eyes always glued to books, like how mine are to the ladies." He winked to a group of girls that walked past us, who giggled girlishly and continued to walk.
