Althea Seven: New family

Althea Seven:

"Out of the question," I said crossing my arms,"If you start oozing then I'll kill you, but not while your still human."

"If I do what if you can't kill be fast enough then I get to Nova or Buki," Si said rambling. He starts to ramble when he's scared.

I sat down next to him,"show me the quote on quote bite."

He pulled up his sleeve and it looked like a bite, but it wasn't deep or all that bloody.

"It might not even transfer thru bite, it could but maybe it doesn't. We refer to the zombie virus too much, from all these zombie movies we've watched," I said leaning back in the seat,"I'm getting comfortable so you don't go and do something stupid."

We were sitting there for a while until Si fell asleep, then I got up and went to the front of the bus. We should be getting there in a couple minutes maybe. I peered into the front of the bus, there was a house coming up ahead. It was Si's cousins house, I've been there a couple times before.

"Buki, that's our aim," I said pointing to the house. He pulled off the gas and we stopped, we were right in front of their house.

I pulled out the two hand guns and went and stood on the top step to jump off the bus,"I'll go check it out, I'll come back if it's clear."

"Don't go alone," Buki said,"let me come."

"Uhh..." Nova said pointing behind her at Si,"don't leave me alone with him, please."

I went back to Si's seat and woke him up.

"We're at your cousins house, everyone else is chickening out, wanna come inside?" I asked.

"Yes," he replied. He jumped up and followed me off the bus.

I looked at the brick house, it had a rotting garden, but a nice side porch.

I took a deep breath, and walked up onto the porch Si basically on my heels.

"Ahhhh!" A voice came from the inside.

Si and I went running inside, he had his hand gun and I had both of mine locked and loaded.

"The scream came from upstairs," Si said running up the stairs that were right next to the door. I followed him up and I found the many rooms, but only one with a open door.

Si looked at me, and I gave him a look that I hope was more reassuring than I felt. He pushed the door open and it showed one of the dead Drenchers laying on the ground then Si's cousin standing next to it.

He was short, black hair, blue eyes, I could see the resemblance between him and Si even though they were cousins.

"Stark, are you ok?" Si asked, I half expected Si to go running over but he didn't.

"I killed them," Stark said, he wasn't crying, he just looked guilty.

"They're not human, think of the zombie apocalypse," I said.

"But that's not possible, I was late for school but our car broke down after dad left to go into the city before he was late to work too," he said looked at us. His clothing was not bloodied, not even dirty.

"Come with us, we're heading out of seattle," Si said holding his right hand out,"we're hoping to find somewhere safe."

"The military to be precise," I added.

"This must have been my mom then," Stark murmured, he seemed so unusually calm."You'll need supplies, take anything that might be of use, if this is the zombie apocalypse then we'll need it."

"Do your parents keep any gas anywhere?" Si asked.

"In the garage," Stark replied. At that moment, Stark and I locked eyes, and I could tell he's let go of his emotions at the moment. He'll have to freak out one time or another.

"I'll go get Nova and Buki, we'll start loading. Si make sure Stark is alright," I said as I lowered my guns completely. I ran down the stairs and back into the bus finding Nova and Buki waiting impatiently.

"I got tripple good news. It's clear, we can load up anything we find including gas which they have, and Si's cousin is alright. He'll be joining us," I said.

"Ooh, is he cute," Nova asked jumping off the bus.

I could see that Buki rolled his eyes and mumbled,"tch."

We loaded up on food, blankets and pillows, gas, and many other things but out of all most importantly gas. Some things that we would have had to cook we cooked up and feasted on. We took about every bottle we could find and filled it with water. We all jumped back onto the bus and got comfortable. Nova made a blanket fort in the back seat, she fell asleep on Buki. Start sat in the middle of the bus admiring the guns. Si sat behind me, keeping me company while I drove down the road.
