Chapter 1: Seriously...?

It was a boring sunny day in Quantico, Virginia. It was the last day of school and I was looking forward to the summer. I practically had the whole summer planned. If everything went the way I predicted that is. Out of nowhere, "BAM!!!" Something crashed into the ground and sent me flying backwards.

I looked around a moment later, I seemed to have blacked out but the crater in the ground caught my attention. I stood up as people started to gather around the crater, I heard murmurs about the crater in front of us was a "sinkhole." "Those stupid idiots don't know what this thing is...." I thought to myself. I looked in, inside the "sinkhole" I saw a human shaped creature with black fur, a tail and wings. The creature amazed me, I stood there long after the people left. I know; why would the people leave and without checking if anyone was hurt. I don't know. This place.... Quantico.... it was really weird. People were acting pretty weird lately. but nothing that I should really be looking into. And why didn't that creature in the crater catch their attention. I snapped out of thought when I saw it move, I dove into the crater and went to take a closer look. The creature opened its eyes and sat up; looking around in curiosity. Its eyes then landed on me, it walked towards me and I stepped back. It stopped and spoke in a low-toned voice, "You can see me can't you...?" It asked. I just nodded, staring into the creatures blood-red eyes. "Yeah... I can..." I answered. "Hmm... amazing... OH! I forgot... I didn't introduce myself. My name is Shadow. What's your's?" Shadow asked. I stare at him awestruck still. "Oh, uhm... My name is Ire." I told him. "I think I can explain the reason why I can see you; ever since I was younger I have been able to see many paranormal things... Uh... I guess i"m wasting your time from whatever you need to do so... see you around..." I start to turn to walk away, then he appeared in front of me. " Yes, I suppose I should get going..." He mumbled and after that he vanished.

i walked home in silence, thinking of what had just happened. Then I remembered that i had a date with my best friend and soon to be girlfriend, Ashley Lopez; i smiled to myself and ran fullspeed the whole way home. I opened the door to my house, "Mom, I'm home..." Maria Karjian, my mother figure of my life and also my aunt, peaked from the kitchen and smiled. "How was your day, honey?" She asked. "For the last day of sophomore year.... good i guess..." I answered. She looked at me oddly, "Whats wrong honey?" I shook my head. "nothing... just exhausted." i dropped my bag in the closet by the door, and walked upstairs, changed my clothing and right when i was going to turn my laptop on; my cousin and sisterly figure knocked on my door. "Hey Ire, mind if i come in?" she asked. "Yeah, come in." I answered, turning my laptop on. She opened the door and stepped inside, sitting on my lounge chair across the room from me. 

Marybeth Karjian... High school prodigy, a figure that everyone expected me to follow, she was perfect in everyway... eh... whatever right...? "What do you need sis?" I looked straight at her. She smiled happily, "oh nothing really, i was jst thinking.... what if you, and ali and drew and i went on a double date?" i stared at her in shock. Drew Lopez, Ashley's older brother; was an absolute kiss ass! And now he's fucking with my sister?! Thats going too far! I kept a straight face while asking, "Who did it? You? Or.... him?" She smiled brightly. "I did! Well, not really. I finally told him that liked him and he thought that maybe all four of us could go on a double date." There was only one thing was running through my mind, "THAT FUCKING COCK BLOCK!" Outside my face was emotionless, inside my mind was running at 1 million miles per hour. "Uhm... Sure... I don't mind, i bet that he's talking about that to his sister now... So, i'll call him and discuss with him what i was planning to do and see if he objects or wants to add anything more later, okay...?" I asked my sister. She was still giddy with happiness, she jumped out the chair and ran downstairs to deliver the new to our mother. Who was now also squealing with happiness. Great... Now i have two lovestricken idiots. Seriously...?
