Adalee:

Ashton pulled up in front of my house. The large home was lit up and I could see Ronnie setting up the decorations in the kitchen. Ignoring my annoyance with my brother I turned and looked at Ashton. His light brown hair fell into his green eyes and his lips were curled up into a teasing smirk. He was so tempting, but instead of fantasizing about him I smiled back.

"Thanks for the ride," I said with a quiet voice.

I wasn't usually shy around anyone but when it came to Ashton I couldn't help it. I wanted to belong to him I wanted him to see me as more than his little sister's best friend. I wanted him to notice me in a way that every other guy in my graduating class would. He was a sophomore but I din't mind that he was older, age has never bothered me before. He was sweet and kind and he accepted me for me. He liked who I was. He liked knowing that I was proud of who I was. He liked me for me. Not even Amber or Caroline had truly accepted my rebel attitude. But Ashton, he did.

"Anytime, see you later tonight," he replied.

I shook my head and slid out of his sports car. Shutting the door carefully I walked up to my front door. When his car pulled out of the drive way he waved and shyly I waved back. Turning back to the front door I turned the knob and walked inside. The minute I walked through the door my mood changed and I held back the urge to attack my brother.

"I think you forgot something," I said sarcastically.

Ronnie didnt look at me as a confused expression appeared on his face, "What did I for-" He stopped mid-sentence when he realized that he had forgotten me.

His expression changed as he apologized, "Adalee, I am so sorry! I went to the staore and came back here to set up because I had finished shopping early. I completely lost track of time. I'm so sorry!"

I could never stay mad at Ronnie he always said the right thing and so I sighed and accepted his apology. He apologized one last time before I went up to my room to get ready for the party.

I only had an hour to get ready so I needed to use my time wisely. Without hesitation I turned on the shower and stepped out of my clothes. The hot water surrounded me as I stepped in. I showered quickly and stepped out into the cold air of the bathroom only fifteen minutes later. Wrapping my towel tightly around my body I walked out into my room. Approaching my closet I heard knocks at the front door. People were starting to arrive early.  I rushed over to my bedroom door and quickly switched the lock. I didn't want any unexpected couples making their way into my room to have some "fun".

Opening my closet door I hung up my new dress and got my new shoes from out of the box. My outfit would be perfect! Tonight was going to be the party of the summer! I was going to look good tonight in hope that Ashton notices me. I slid into the dress and zipped up the zipper. I buckled my shoes to my feet and walked back into the bathroom to apply my make up.

It took me a half hour between getting dressed and doing my make up. Now I only had fifteen minutes to do my hair. I tried many different styles but after many trial and errors I found the perfect one  My hair was slung over my left shoulder and my bangs long side bangs fell loosely ovr my eye. it was the perfect look for my outfit tonight! I was finally ready to make an appearance at my party.

I smoothed the skirt of my dress and made my way over to my body mirror. I had decide not to wear my Red One Shouldered Atria Dress. Instead I chose something a little sexier. I had chosen to wear a black bare shouldered lace dress that hugged my body perfectly. It made me look older and not so immature. It didn't look slutty either. In my oppinion it took a lot for anything I wore to look slutty because of what all of the other girls wore. For me though this dress was a perfect middle. My heels matched the dress. The straps looped decoratively up my legs. The design of the shoe was more boot-like than anything but it went with my dress appropriately. Again not too slutty but a pefect middle.

Checking my make up one last time a wave of relief washed over me. Everything was going great. My eyeshadow had been applied evenly and my eyeliner wasn't too thick. I was never big on make up because my skin was so tan anything too dark was overwhelming. I always wore the same matt browns and never over used anything that was black. My eyelashes were very long and always looked good so normally I didn't bother with mascara or eyeliner for that matter because of how thick my eyelashes actually were. But tonight I decided to but I didn't over do it. Taking one last look and my mature appearance I turned towards my door. With one last deep breath I unlocked the door and stepped out into the hallway.
