Runaway

I woke up the next morning and just laid there enjoying the sounds of the chirping birds. I smiled and thought of what happened the day before. My smile quickly faded and my eyes teared up. I quickly blinked back my tears and got out of bed. I walked downstairs to see Monica making pancakes. "hey future daughter." Monica said smiling. my eyes teared up again when I saw the ring on her finger. it was the same ring dad had given to mom when they got married. "I will never be your daughter!'' I said while sobbing uncontrollably. I grabbed a yogurt and ran back upstairs. I grabbed my laptop and went on Instagram. I had a lot of comments on my pictures from Hayes's fans saying how much they were sorry for me and some that said I was the worst girlfriend ever. then I had an idea. 'Maybe I shouldn't end my life today....... what if I could push this behind me and start a whole new chapter? maybe I should run away.' I thought to myself. I quickly texted my cousin, Selena, that lived in San Jose. She was 19 and lived with her boyfriend, Jason, and 2 year old son, luke. I asked her if I could stay with her for a while and she said yea she would love to have another girl to talk to. I smiled and locked my door while turning on my music. I grabbed my purse and a jansport backpack. In my backpack I put 3 outfits and my favorite vans. I put my mascara, lipstick, an eyeliner in the little zipper along with my iPhone charger. I went to my bathroom and got my deoderant and toothbrush and also put them in my zipper. I grabbed my laptop and put it in it's case along with it's charger. I stuffed that in my backpack and zipped it up. I grabbed my purse and grabbed my wallet I counted my money and saw that I only had $20. I looked under my bed for my jewlery box because that's always where I kept my birthday money and I have been saving it for a couple years and never touched it unless I was putting more money with it. I counted that money and saw that I had $300. I put that in my wallet then back in my purse. Then I went downstairs and grabbed two boxes of pop tarts and a few waters. I went back upstairs and locked my door again. I put my food Nd drinks in my purse and zipped it up. I grabbed my hair brush and put it in my backpack. I looked around my room to see if I was forgetting anything. I couldn't find anything. So I opened my window and threw my bags out so Monica and my dad wouldn't see them when I went downstairs. I walked downstairs and grabbed my house key along with a few quick snacks. I was about to open the door when I heard Monica. " And where do you think you're going?" she said with an attitude. I smirked " And why do you care? I know you don't like me and that's fine because I don't like you." I said. "Well you better start liking me soon because I'm going to be your mom." She said smiling. "You will never be my mom. And you will never replace my mom. So stop trying to." I said while opening the door. I walked out and slammed the door shut. I walked around to where I put my bags. I picked them up and realized I had forgot my penny board. "Damn it!" I said. Then I remembered that Hayes still had my penny board. I walked over to his house and put my bags on the floor before knocking. "Hey honey." Elizabeth said. "Hey, um Hayes still has my penny board and I really need it." I said. " Of course, it's up in his room. Come in." She said smiling. "Oh no, sorry I'm kind of in a hurry." I said. "Oh ,ok ill be right back." She said. I waited outside and went on my phone. She came back out five minutes later. "Sorry it took me so long I couldn't find it." She said while handing it to me. "Thank you so much Elizabeth." I said smiling for once. "Ok bye hun," she said while closing the door. I picked up my stuff and got on my penny board. I went to the bus station and got on the bus to San Jose. The bus ride would take a few hours since we had to make other stops. During the bus ride I got texts from my dad saying to get home and to tell Monica I'm sorry and he's going to call the cops. I texted him back saying I'm fine I'm on a bus right now, I'm going to start a new chapter in my life and to just stay out of it. He didn't reply so I fell asleep.

I woke up two hours later and got off the bus. I started riding my penny board and texted Selena asking her where she lives. She gave me her address and I skated my way there. Once I got there I started getting nervous. I knocked on the door and saw my beautiful cousin. She was holding luke. She smiled and said, "oh my god Sophie! you are so much older!" I smiled and replied " yea I'm 13 almost 14 now." She told me to come in and I could have the guest room. I put my stuff in there and went back downstairs. " are you hungry?" she asked. "Yes I haven't eaten anything for quite a while." I said. "Good cuz I just made dinner. I hope u like lasagna." She said while giving me a plate. "Thank you so so much Selena. This means alot to me that u let me stay with you." I said while giving her a hug. "Anytime. hey, does your dad know your here?" she asked. "No I kinda ran away." I replied. "Ah I see. Me and you are going to have a talk later and you can tell me what happened." She said. I nodded and sat down at the table. I started eating and felt my phone vibrate. It was a text from Hayes saying he was sorry and he wants to get back together. I told him I ranaway. He said to get home and we could talk. I said no and turned my phone off. "Selena can we have our "talk" tomorrow because I'm really tired." I asked. "Of course hun." she said. I walked to the guest room and closed the door. I crawled into the bed and thought to my self 'time for a new way of living.' I put my head on the pillow and fell asleep immedietly.
