Sunlight filled the sky, pure scattered light; its hue ambitiously illuminating each headstone in the cemetery. The trees shone as if they were wearing golden crowns.
Hinata sat upon the cool grass, her close soaked with sweat. She rested her head against the cold stoned and silently sobbed. She let her guard down completely. Only thinking about what she should say to her mother.
"Four years tomorrow..." she said to herself as she placed her small hand on the stone. Her fingers tracing the letters of her mother's name. "I would give anything for you to be alive right now... I wish so bad to see you again. I miss you so much... I would do anything..."
Hinata's fist clenched and she pushed herself off the stone. "Enough about that!" She shouted, examining the name."You would want me to be strong! I must be strong!" She yelled hitting the floor. More tears fell from her eyes and her jaw tightened.
"I'm the heir to the Hyuga Clan! I am a shinobi! I am your daughter! I will train hard because its what you would want me to do!" she yelled hitting the grass harder. She ignored the person walking towards her and punched the now patch of dirt before her. She hit it harder and harder until she felt someone grab her arms and cross then in front of her. They pulled her into their chest.
"Hinata stop!!" he said as she struggled to get free.
"Let go!" she yelled kicking her feet up causing the boy to lose his balance. They both fell but his grip didn't loosen. Instead, he held her in his lap, resting his head on her shoulder. "I can handle myself!"
"Sure you can," he scoffed. "Look at your hands! They are bleeding!" Hinata stopped struggling and looked at her hands. They were dirty and shaking. Not to mention they were bloody. The boy let her go and she leaned forward looking at the at the hole in front of her.
"Gosh..." she said quietly. "I'm sorry.." she turned around and looked at him. Her tears clouding her vision.
"Its fine," he said looking away. "Here. Clean your face."
Hinata took the tissue and gently wiped her eyes. The paper instantly soaking up the tears. "Thanks," she said looking at him. "S-Sa-Sasuke!"
"What?" he said looking at her surprised face.
"I-I just... I m-mean... I didn't..." Hinata stuttered.
"Uh okay..." he said turning to walk away. "You should get home! Your hands are hurt."
Hinata watched him slowly walk away. His word echoing in her head before it finally processed. Her eyes went wide as she looked down at her hands. Then she looked back at him. She looked closely at his arm. Blood. Her blood was on his arm. Not only could she not go home with bloody knuckles but if he walks around with blood on his arm people will see and jump to conclusions.
"Uchiha-san!!" she yelled getting up and running towards him. Sasuke spun around and looked at her. She stopped only a few feet away.
"What is it Hyuga?" he asked shoving his hands in his pocket.
"Blood," she said simply. Sasuke's eyebrow raised. "On your arm." she pointed. He looked at his arm and sighed.
"Great..." he said. They stood in silence before Sasuke spoke up. "Come on. I'll take you home."
"Uchiha-san I-I can't go home like this." She said showing him her hands. Sasuke sighed again, looking at her shaking hands, then at her pleading expression.
"Fine we'll goes to my house," he said turning and walking again. Hinata frowned but followed anyway. She walked with her head down and hid her hands, shoving them into her jacket pockets. Sasuke walked quickly and quietly. Only slowing down when he couldn't hear Hinata's small foot steps behind him. "Hurry up Hyuga... People start coming out around this time."
"H-hai." Hinata mumbled, picking up her pace. She walked at Sasuke's pace but her legs were still worn out from her training with Sakura and Obito sensei. She lost her footing and fell forward, landing on her face. The thud caused Sasuke to turn around and give her a glare before he realised what had happened. Once it processed, he smiled down at her. The smile turned into a laugh until he was crying on the floor beside her.
"Its not that funny Uchiha-san." she said pushing herself up to her knees.
"I'm sorry." he said standing up and dusting himself off. "I didn't expect the 'almighty' Hyuga to lose track of the ground so easily."
"You were walking so fast." she frowned. Sasuke ran his fingers through his hair, still looking down at her. "I couldn't keep up."
"Sorry." he said reaching his hand out for her. She hesitantly took it and he pulled her up. She winced in pain as she put pressure on her left ankle. "You hurt it?"
"Yeah. I think I just scratched it though. No big deal." she said trying to continue walking but winced again as she stepped.
"I think you might have rolled it." Sasuke said watching her try to walk. "You know you shouldn't be trying to walk right?"
"Its not a big deal! I can walk. Let just get to your house." she said taking another step. As she did so her ankle gave out. She started to go down but Sasuke caught her.
"So annoying." he mumbled, helping her up. "Get on my back."
"N-no I can walk o-on my own!" she shouted. Sasuke frowned and gave her a 'are you serious?' look, causing her to sigh and get on his back. "Arigatō, Sasuke." she mumbled, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
