Plan Setting In

Natsu's POV

The sun, something you can be so grateful for. It brings warmth, joy, happiness, but right now, I really just want some sleep.

I decided to wait until the next morning, and was up all night after we got back from Happy and Carla's making sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. The guys wouldn't stop pestering me about it and I just found it funny, because they know how serious I am. And come on, would anyone believe them? The great Natsu Dragneel, Fairy Tail's Salamander, getting engaged?

The sun was warm on my bare back. I turned my head to look up at the window. Today was the day. The eggs won't be hatching for another couple of days, and Happy said he'll give us sometime to ourselves. Lucy's been working her butt off to help Carla and the new eggs, so Happy gave her a little 'vacation' to smooth things over.

I looked down from the window and saw her beautiful blonde hair. My arm was resting on her waist. I felt her steady breathing, her back go up and back down slowly. I smiled to myself and rubbed her back and snuggled up to her. I kissed her head and closed my eyes, breathing her in. I smiled again, pulling her closer to me. I felt her heart beat, I kept my smile bright. Her breath picked up, and her heart beat quickened. I heard her groan and her arm move to her eye.

"Morning," she breathed. She rubbed her eye and rested her head on her other hand.

"Morning," I smirked.

"Hmph," she blushed. I chuckled and kissed her warm lips.

"Natsu.. you need to brush your teeth," she giggled.

"Thought I could get away with it," I laughed back and threw myself back onto the bed. She got up and walked towards the bathroom. Door closed, water started.

"I'm serious! Teeth!" she laughed.

I sighed and jumped out of bed with a smile on my face. Today was going to be perfect.

Lucy's POV

"Man, it's sunny today!" Natsu exclaimed while shielding his eyes from the sun's rays.

"I wish we all could go on that vacation we planned a couple of weeks ago," I stretched.

"Who knows, maybe we can!" he smiled.

"Come on, Happy only gave me a couple of days off. Do you think he'll give us a week or so?"

"Well with everything going on, we haven't had time to celebrate my birthday."

"That's true! Maybe he will," I breathed again.

We walked up to Happy and Carla's place. The two where admiring their new eggs.

"I don't know Happy, do you think he'll really do it?" Carla asked. The two Exceeds seemed oblivious that Natsu and I where there.

"You know Natsu," Happy started. My eyes widened and I felt Nastu tense up. We moved out of view and listened to them talk, "He'll do it if his heart tells him to."

"I just hope he will. Lucy deserves that much.." Carla finished. My breath disappeared, and I looked at Natsu. He swallowed, and got up.

"Hey guys! What where you guys talking about?" Natsu asked walking towards Happy and Carla.

"Oh, nothing. Is Lucy with you?" Carla asked.

"I'm right here. Just uh.. dropped something.." I replied getting up from the ground.

"I actually wanted to ask you guys if uh," I started while walking up to them, "If it was ok if Natsu, myself, and a couple of other people took some time after the eggs hatch?" I continued.

"Sure!" Happy started, "We haven't really done anything for your birthday yet!"

"Thanks guys! And I promise once we get back, we'll be here to help!" I thanked.

"You are certainly welcome my dear. You guys have a great next couple of days! Happy will fly over if we need you," Carla stated.

"Thanks!" Natsu thanked, grabbed my arm, and pulled me off again. We slowed down once we go to the yard. I slid my hand down into his own and we walked like that for a bit, but I had to ask him something.

Natsu's POV

Happy and Carla could've messed things up big time. I'm just glad they weren't specific, but Lucy's incredibly smart so I'm not sure what she's thinking. We walked hand in hand until she began to slow down.

"Do you know what Happy and Carla were talking about?" she finally asked.

"Uh, um..." I stuttered. What was I supposed to say, "You know, I actually don't... they didn't really say much. I do know it must of been important, they pretended we didn't hear what they were sayin!" I awkwardly laughed. She looked at me questioningly , but dropped it. Knows me well enough.

"Alright, so we have the next couple of days off, whatcha wanna do?" we started walking again.

"Oh I don't know, how about a date tonight?" I smirked.

"Really?! Alright fancy-pants, where're we goin'?"

"It'll be a surprise!" I replied. My plan was setting in, and there was nothing stopping me.
