Luke's POV:

"Henry, let's go." He was laying in bed, What happened yesterday still haunted me, I felt so guilty. Henry slowly got up, I helped him go down the stairs. I felt myself tear up, if only mum and dad was here. After helping Henry with our morning routine, I dropped him to school but this time, I came with him. Everyone was staring at us, I didn't like the attention. "Mind, looking away?" I yelled angrily. I glanced at Henry, he looked so lifeless...so dead. I brought him to a stop and looked him into the eye, I didn't care if he couldn't see me...I just wanted him to know I was here for him.

"Henry, I will never ever....leave your side and I'm sorry..man. I'm so sorry...I didn't mean it..I really didn't mean it. " Henry lips perked up, but I knew he was forcing himself to smile.

"Just promise to read books to me..." He whispered softly. I looked to the floor with guilt, "I'll be your eyes..." I replied as I felt the guilt eat me up. "Don't...feel guilty." He whispered. I felt my heart break even more, even though he said that...I still felt guilty.

"HENRY!" A familiar voice replied, a girl came in view pushing me out of the way. I immediately grabbed Henry and protectively stood in front of him. My expression softened as I noticed it was Gwen, her eyes widened.

"L-L-Luke...what are you doing here?" She stuttered. I sighed, I haven't even asked Henry if we should of kept him being 'blind' as a secret. She placed her hand onto my arm, I can't believe I told her that 'I missed her' .  Shrugging her arm away, I walked towards the principal's office.

"Henry, we need to tell the principal. It'll be much easier." I softly whispered to Henry. He just simply nodded his head, "That was Gwen, right?". Sighing, I simply replied with a yes. He chuckled, that's weird...why would he do that?

"She told me she wanted to be my friend, but she ruined that all in one night." He replied as I knocked on the door of the principal. I was about to reply to his sentence, but a low deep voice interrupted me.

"Come in."

We walked into the room and sat down, the chair the man was sitting on was turned away from us. So, I couldn't see his face. It'd been a long time, since we entered his office before...it felt so weird and odd.

"Mr Johnson... There's some important matter, I need to talk to you about."  He turned around, the same blue eyes stared back at me.

"Why do you have to be so formal? I'm your father, aren't I?" His eyebrows furrowed.

"More like step-father." I replied a bit angry. He looked really disappointed, I couldn't help but glance somewhere else.

"Fine, why are you here...Luke. Don't you have to be at college?" He grabbed a pen from his penholder and started writing.

"How are you Henry....?" He asked again. Henry stayed quiet, Mr. Johnson looked up from his sheet and at his son.

"Son... Respond to me when I'm talking to you." Henry still stayed quiet, I decided to interrupt.

"There's something you need to know." I took a gulp, when Mr.Johnson eyes landed on mine. We took a death stare and it left me feeling so worthless under his stare.

"Your son...his..- he intterupted me.

"Deaf?" He asked, as if it was a simple fact.

"No...." I replied, feeling a bit unsure if I should actually tell him.

"His....blind." I finally whispered.

He eyed me, "What happened?" This was the most scariest part, I had to say.

"I..uh...." I didn't want to say it.

"I got into an car accident." Henry replied. Mr.Johnson straightened up and eyed us both, it's not like Henry could see him ..but I could tell he could sense it.

"Right..." He simply replied. We stayed quiet for a few minutes, before he dismissed us to go class.

I needed to be the 'eyes' for Henry...even if it means I have to forget my studies.
