Gwen's POV:

I sat in the corner of my room, rocking myself slowly. It's been months since Brody had left, I was immediately left into a huge depressed state. My parents had tried to convince me to eat, but all that I could do was think about Brody all day long. I didn't even go school, which made my parents hire Henry to look after me while they were gone busy for work.

It was just a simple task at first, helping me eat a few food but then it went to something, like learning about things they taught in school. It was amazing how much effort Henry was placing into such tasks, I at one point, thought he was going to give up but he kept going on.

He came home again but this time, it was different. He seemed really determined. He entered my room and placed some books down but they were -for sure- not school books at all. I just stayed there, lifeless at the corner of the room as he sat on the floor. He started to read me a story,

" I believed in love. I believed in him but not all stories have a happy ending, he left me."

I couldn't help but feel the tears start to trickle down my lifeless face. His hazel eyes looked up from the book and into mine. His eyebrows arched, double thinking his thoughts. He closed the book and look me into the eye.

"She believed in love and she believed in him. She was a player but he didn't know. Until, she broke it off. She changed though, her facade broke to pieces. In front of the one she loved but fate, didn't work that way. He had to leave. She wanted that second chance, but what she didn't know was that the man she should of fell for was- Henry shuffled closer, taking my hands into his- me." He whispered.

Third person's view:

The two sat there in utter silence, unaware of each other's thoughts. Her green eyes glanced to the floor and she shook his hands away. He sighed, combing his hair with his fingers. She glanced back with tears welling in her eyes. Her mouth opened and shut, double thinking if she should speak.

"I don't think...I can ever..fall in love, again." She whispered. Her throat was hitched and a huge lump blocked her from saying anymore. She could literally feel the choking as tears slowly dripped down her pale cheeks.

"Let me change that..." Henry whispered.

"Do you...trust me?" He asked. Gwen glanced to the floor, the last time she did that...she resulted in pain. She didn't nod or shake, it was a maybe. Uncertainty. Not sure.

"Trusting someone, is like ..risking everything all over again." She whispered. His hazel orbs stirred into hers, "Start again. A new page and experience what it feels to love someone...again." Her green eyes sparked, a tiny sparkle.

Henry's POV:

"Mrs. Parin, Mr.Parin. May I take your daughter to a date?" I dressed in a dark black suit and held a bouquet of roses.

They  both looked at each other then back at me, "you don't need to ask us. Take her. We don't want her to stay hidden in her room all day. So please do." Mrs. Parin replied, as she gave a soft smile.

"Just don't do any funny things or hurt her more than what Brody did. Or else..you won't be led of easily." Mr. Parin replied as he gave me a sharp pat on the back.

"Thank you....and I won't do any of that." I replied, with a soft smile. I made my way upstairs and knocked on the door. The door swung open and her green eyes sparkled with a bit more light than before. I noticed her blue dress which went well with her brown hair.

"You're beautiful." She did a soft sad smile, "Thank you.." She whispered.

Her arm reached for mine and we both walked down the stairs, both her parents turned to snap some pictures.

"Oh gosh. Mum ,it's not a prom or anything."  She replied as she tried to look away from the camera. Her mother ignored her and continued to snap some more pictures.

"Hold still , Gwen." She replied as she snapped some more. Gwen let go of my arm and ran outside.

"Oh, dear. Well, at least the pictures aren't blurred." Mrs. Parin replied. I said my goodbyes and followed Gwen outside. She looked scared, as if she just saw some sort of ghost.

"you okay?" I asked, she just simply nodded.

We finally reached the place and couldn't help but sit back, as we ate some burgers and chips. We watched the city view from afar and everything just seemed perfect, until I heard Gwen breathing heavily. I glanced at her, she looked at me with eyes full of fear.

"What's wrong?" I asked. A knock appeared at my car side window. I was about to scroll my window down when Gwen said, 'don't.'

"Why?" I asked. I looked at the man before me, his eyes were green and I could see some tattoos and piercings. He wore a black leather jacket and looked like trouble. He had wore a farmer's hat, which didn't at all suit his black leather jacket.

"We can leave, but I can't ....just rudely leave him standing there." I replied as I scrolled down.  She squirmed but then the stranger already spoke.

"Hello, how ya'll doin?" His accent was one of an south american and it was weird, because he did no way look like a southerner.

"Good. About to leave." I replied, as calmly.

He smirked, a country girl came yelling and placed her arms around him, pecking him on the cheek.

I decided to start my car and reverse, he came walking as calmy trying to follow us.

"Goodbye , Gwen!" He yelled with a wave, the girl at his side also waved but then changed her decision to look back at the man again. Gwen shuddered.

"Who is he? How does he know you?" I asked. It was weird, it was always me that was the 'mysterious' one but even if I thought Gwen was an open book, she still held secrets hidden and they were only surfacing slowly. She didn't answer and looked outside her window.

After a few minutes she spoke, "My step-brother."
