Millie's POV

The entire drive back I didn't speak, neither did Finn. We sat in the silence and I watched the road, looking away from Finn. When we got back I walked past people cleaning the street into the lobby of the apartments. I went up to the room and ran to my room slamming the door. I sat on the floor and leaned against my bed. I began to cry.

"Son of a BITCH!" I yelled.

I cried and cried until I was laying on the floor with a puddle. I heard my door creak open after ten minutes of balling.

"Mill?" I heard Noah as he popped his head in.

He looked at me lying on the floor staring at the ground and shut the door before crouching in front of me. He rubbed my back.

"Millie, I know you're sad about Jacob." He said.
"Noah stop. You don't even know what I'm sad about." I whispered.
"Is it what Finn said?" He asked.
"You heard?" I asked.
"We all did."

I laughed and sighed.

"Well, he's right. I'm changed. For worse." I said.
"You know what though? You changed once, why can't you change again." He asked.
"Because I've endured so much. I know what sadness truly is. And I don't like it."
"Then steer away from it." Noah said as he stood up.

He turned around and walked out. I got up and laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I couldn't fall asleep, or think. I just looked at the ceiling for an hour until I did fall asleep.

Noah's POV

I sat on the couch and watched the movie with everyone else. Millie wasn't ok, I could tell. But the crappy thing is, the person who understands her most doesn't want to be near her. I tried though. Hopefully she'll come around. I got up halfway through the movie and went to the kitchen to get a snack. I shuffled some popcorn down from the cupboard. I opened the pack and popped it into the microwave. I turned around and bumped into Maddie.

"Sorry." I said.
"It's alright. You just bumped into me." She laughed.

I smiled and hopped up onto the counter to sit and wait. I looked over at the group and saw Caleb sleeping with Sadie leaned against him also passed out. Finn just sat there, while Gaten was laying on the other couch. I looked back to my side and saw Maddie sitting beside me.

"I hope Millie is going to be ok." She said.
"I do too. I miss the old, happy Millie." I said.
"You doing ok?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah I'm fine as of right now. You okay?" I continued.
"Just wish the world didn't go to shit. Everything has changed in a day in a half." She explained.
"That's what I imagined the apocalypse to be like." I joked.

Maddie laughed as the microwave beeped. I hopped down and grabbed my popcorn, heading back to the couch. I ate and after I finished I ended up taking a nap.

Millie's POV

I woke up from my little nap and looked outside the door. The apartment was quiet and I noticed everyone asleep. I crept out of the apartment and headed downstairs to the park. When I got there I sat on the bench. Everything was clean again and people roamed the streets. I noticed Charlie and Natalia sitting across the fountain from me and flashed a little wave to Natalia. She waved back and got up. She came over and sat beside me.

"Something troubling you?"
"My boyfriend died today." I said calmly.
"Oh? I'm sorry to hear that." Natalia said.
"I shot him in the head to prevent him from turning and now my best friend hates me." I explained.
"That's... wow. I don't even know what to say."
"He sure did." I said sarcastically.
"You need to prove him wrong." Natalia said.
"What?" I asked
"Whatever he said about you, prove him wrong." She repeated.
"I'll try."
