548. I'd counted them. Every single tile in the room. 548 ugly yellow stained tiles.

I was about to start counting them again when the door burst open making me jump in a flash of fear.

Next to me I heard Dani yelp as Harrison tossed her to the ground with enough force to knock her unconcious.

Without hesitation I moved towards her cradling her in my arms. He shoved me aside and lunged for her hitting her hard with a clap.

"STOP!" I shouted loudly but he ignored me. "YOU'RE HURTING HER!" I yelled louder moving back to her side.

Striking my cheek I felt the world spin as the cool burn of contact tingled on my skin before turing firey and hot. "Get out of the way bitch!" Harrison ordered but I was both determined not too and too dazed from the hit to try.

"Harrison!" His booming voice commanded from behind as Harrison froze hand held in mid air ready to crash down in another strike. "Go." He spoke softer this time, calmer, and yet still holding the command in his tone.

Harrison left the room as I returned to Dani's side. She was awake and crying, too weak to do anything else. "I've got you, you're ok, he's gone." I whispered.

She still cried curled up as I stood carefully to face Trey. "What did you do to her?" I demanded.

He didn't answer crossing over to the only chair in the room and pulling it out into the middle of the floor before sitting down. "She'll be fine. Are you ok?"

"Where did you take her?" I ignored his question.

"Can I get you anything?" I looked at him frowning, he returned my glace with a simple smile. If he wasn't so horrible he would be rather attractive. "Anything at all?"

"Let me- us-" I sighed. "Let us go." I forced myself up helping Dani to the bed beside us.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked shifting slightly, my lower back was aching, I bent my body trying to relieve the pain and still hide the minor bump of my pregnancy.

Trey stood up and walked over to the door. "Harrison!" He called turning back to us. I felt the rush of fear wash over me as I stepped in front of Dani to protect her. He must have noticed my body language when he turned back. "Relax Emma." He added with a smile.

Harrison returned standing in the door casting down his shadow over us. "Boss?"

"Get Dani out of here and take her to her new room." He nodded and steped forward but I planted my feet and stood tall.

"Back the fuck up." I hissed. "She isn't going anywhere!"

Harrison smiled down at me before shoving me to the side. I fought at his side but he was stronger than me scooping Dani up easily. "Emma, she's going to be fine, you have my word." Trey spoke calmly as I scraped and clawed at Harrison trying to get Dani away from him.

A sharp strike to my face sent me to my knees as Harrison stepped away from me, Dani whimpering weakly in his arms but not fighting, she'd lost the will power now. My eyes started to water from the blow as I watched him go. "No, please, don't hurt her!"

Trey clamped down on Harrison's wrist as he crossed. "Do not touch her." He commanded before letting Harrison go.

I darted for the open door but Trey grabbed my arm and held me there before slinging my back. "Em, I just want to talk."

He held up his hands like a zookeeper taming a lion. "I promise she will be fine." He pushed the chair back in front of the door and sat once more.
