"Nat," said Gideon. " Not that we don't love you or anything, but it's been two months now. "
"Don't you think you aught to tell Moody how you feel? Or make up, at the very least?" said Fabian.
The three of them were sitting at a table in the library. They were supposed to be studying for their transfiguration test Professor Dumbledore had assigned for the next day, but the twins were obviously not in the mood to do so.
"Listen, I appreciate that the two of you want me to make up with Al, but I don't think I can. Not after how silly I've made myself look."
" Correction, we want you to make out with Moody, but that's besides the point. "
"The point is," Gideon said, nudging his brother, " you're not happy, and you know it. Our jokes can only go so far, love, and they don't seem to be working out very well. "
"You're at your happiest when you're with Moody, and you know it. You have to get over the fact that he went on a date with a girl that wasn't you. It's not his fault you took this long to figure out how you feel about him," Fabian added.
"The poor lad has been pining over you for Merlin knows how long. How long was he supposed to wait before you finally caught on?"
" I know, I know. But that doesn't change the fact that it still hurts when I think about him and Melissa. I can't be around him when she's there, it makes me hate myself for not realizing it earlier. "
A throat cleared.
Natalie whipped her head round-- her blue eyes locking onto a girl.
Melissa, as a matter of fact.
"Sorry to interrupt, but can I speak to you Natalie?" She asked shyly.
Natalie stood and made her way over to Melissa. The girl turned, motioning for Natalie to follow her.
She led her to a small corner of the library, then stopped.
"so..." Natalie said after a few moment's pause.
"I-I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I had no idea how you felt about Alastor, and I shouldn't have asked him to Hogsmeade," she said timidly.
"I- what? How did you know?"
Melissa looked at her seriously. "It's a bit obvious... I think the only one that hasn't noticed is, well, Alastor. But after hearing him talk about you all the time, I realized that... well I realized I wasn't the right girl for him. You are."
