“That’s, umm… that was quite clumsy of you Deidara” he trailed off and continued staring at my friend’s arse, but I don’t think it was anything worth prosecuting for. Just a bit pervy. Pein glanced at me, seeming to also share my uncertainty. We would need something a little more solid than that.
“Itachi, you look like you’re struggling with that” okay it looked like he’d give us something without any work at all. Orochimaru walked up behind Itachi who rendered himself motionless, as the teacher leaned over him to point out something on his work in a way that could definitely be considered leery and inappropriate. Me and Kakuzu slowly turned ourselves round… “Why don’t I just lend you a hand” he said, taking the pencil out of Itachi’s hand and leaving it lingering for just a bit too long for comfort.
He crossed out a word on his page and wrote in a new one, then in a sinister whisper pulled away, “There, that’s much better, isn’t it?”
Oh my god I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I couldn’t comprehend how Itachi wasn’t running from the room, none of us could. But I think we were all relieved for him when Orochimaru returned to his desk at the front. Itachi was silent for the rest of the detention.
“YES! We’ve so got the motherfucker now!” Hidan shrieked as we got outside, throwing his hands triumphantly up in the air.
Pein nodded, “It is indisputable, the amount of touching he had was not acceptable for a teacher”
“Hey, Itachi, you okay un?”
He had been completely silent ever since Orochimaru talked to him. “I think he’s a bit traumatised”
“It’s okay man” Kisame wrapped an arm around Itachi’s shoulders, “We’ll get you some ice cream on the way home or something”
… I like ice cream…
“I SWEAR TO GOD if that CREEP comes ANYWHERE NEAR ME, EVER AGAIN, I WILL TEAR HIS EYE BALLS OUT, SHOVE THEM DOWN HIS THROAT AND CUT THEM OUT THROUGH HIS INTESTINES AND SHOW HIS INTESTINES TO HIS EYES!” We all stopped in our tracks to look at Itachi, whose outburst seemed to have returned him to normal. “Sorry guys I just needed to get that out there”
“I don’t think anyone blames you under the circumstances… or at all” I offered meekly,
“I’m just glad to be the hell out of there.”
“Hopefully Kakuzu and Sasori hopefully got that on film, now he’s gonna get what’s coming to him”
“… Pein, why are you tapping your fingers together and smiling un?”
We all looked worriedly at the smirking, chuckling ginger boy, “Heheheh… And it shall be magnificent”
To be fair it wasn’t that unusual. Kakuzu patted Pein lightly on the shoulder, he didn’t seem to notice, “Okay Pein, okay”
We left for the bus station in bittersweet victory that day, with the knowledge that we could come in tomorrow, and get that son of a bitch fired for good.
“What the hell do you mean this isn’t enough for a complaint?!”
The deputy head, Mrs Fournival, sat forward in her chair and frowned heavily at Pein. The rest of us that’d come to back him up just couldn’t believe what we were hearing. Kakuzu picked up his phone and shoved it in her face, video still playing out, “Aren’t you seeing what I’m seeing here?! Get your eyes checked, that’s not an alright way for a teacher to interact with a student!”
“Yeah sorry miss but are you fucking retarded?”
“Hidan don’t swear please. This isn’t enough for a complaint because it can be interpreted many different ways, most of which are not deviant. It wouldn’t hold up. I imagine a lot of people would have at least glanced at Deidara, and Itachi doesn’t look distressed, either”
Deidara’s voice arose irritably from the crowd of seven, “That’s because he’s Itachi.”
An irritated brat is never a good thing, especially around a teacher where he won’t hold back. And it was the last thing we needed right that moment. I grabbed onto his arm and gripped it, getting him to look round at me as I shook my head. He backed down, reluctantly.
“I’m sorry, but there’s not much I can do about this right now. It’s about time you boys got back to class.”
Pein clenched his fists and I was genuinely thinking he was about to knock her one, but instead he just scowled and left. The rest of us followed after him, only Itachi hanging back to give a look to the teacher which all I could think read ‘fuck you’.
As soon as we got outside Pein planted his fist solidly into the plaster wall and stalked off down the corridor. Itachi was about to follow him but Kisame basically shook his head and told him not to bother. He wanted to be alone if he went off like that. He’d be back… probably with a vengeance.
“Stupid bitch. Can’t tell a fucking paedophile when she sees one.” Hidan grumbled to himself, “I’ve gotta get to biology, am I meeting you guys out on the field at break?”
“As always” I replied. He nodded and headed to class. Kakuzu also headed off, business studies or something, and finally Itachi and Kisame left too.
Dei came up to me timidly, “So, should we get to English then hm?”
“… No” I flung my bag over my shoulder, “I’m not waiting an entire lesson to do something about this crap. I’m gonna break into his room, see if he’s got anything incriminating, you coming?”
“Hell yeah.”
We forged some notes quickly to be allowed out in the corridor, that way we didn’t have to avoid every teacher and could be out in the open. Forging was something we excelled in, being fairly decent at art and all. Well, I was, I wouldn’t call some of Dei’s stuff ‘art’. It was a long-running argument we’d had since our first lesson – anyway, we went up the stairs and to Orochimaru’s classroom, next door to his own private office. He wasn’t in there, the desk lamp would be on. He always kept the blinds closed, kinda like a vampire. “Maybe he is actually a vampire…”
“Maybe he’s blackmailing the school, hm” I just kind of looked at him ironically what he suggested was completely ridiculous, “It would explain why they were keeping him on, and why he has an office all to himself”
“Okay yeah that’s true” I went to open to the door to the classroom; locked as usual. I began fumbling about for my paperclip and pen, “Now that you say it, it is likely he’s got something on the school, or the influential members of staff…” the lock clicked and I pushed the door open, “I guess we could be about to find out what”
