Thomas woke up to the same burning sensation in his chest that had plagued him for the last 2 days now. It still hurt like hell, but not as bad, however...
Where am I...?
He opened his eyes to see the white room he was in, in an actual bed... His left arm was hooked up to an IV, and he could see an electrode stuck to his chest. A woman in a rather creased lab coat walked into the room... Apparently she had been really busy...
"Good morning, young man..." she said. "You look properly rested for someone in your current state..."
She replaced the near-empty IV with a full one and examined the bruising on his chest and face. "Yes... you're well on the mend... I suppose you have questions though."
"Where am I...?" Thomas asked, his voice was somewhat raspy, but at least speaking didn't hurt anymore.
"You're safe and sound on the Banshee, with people who fight the aliens." the doctor answered.
"I'm on a boat?"
"Actually we're on an alien ship, except we stole it from the aliens and use it for ourselves now."
"You stole an alien ship...?"
"It's a long story..."
"Well as long as I'm here..." Thomas chuckled. "I'm afraid I didn't catch your name..."
"Where are my manners? I am Lana O'Sullivan; I tend to the sick and wounded and look after the ship when the captain is absent. And while we're on the subject of names... we didn't catch yours either..."
"Oh..." Thomas scraped his throat for a second... "I'm Thomas Zomers... didn't she tell you?"
"Who?"
"Karina...? The alien who was with me?"
"The Blue?" Lana asked.
"Silcar... yes... where is she?"
"It... she... is in a medical cell. Since you were with her, you will have to testify in the upcoming trial, and this trial won't start as long as you're still in here."
"So she's alive?"
"For now... if the captain didn't believe she could provide relevant information, she'd be dead already."
"I take it you've had some bad experiences with aliens..."
"You could say so... I'm sure you have your own story to tell on that..."
"A long story yes..." Thomas sighed. "How did you end up here though?"
"That's a very long story of my own..."
"I have nothing but time these days..."
"Alright... well I had a position in Irish parliament..."

Karina couldn't move her right arm... which she found very frustrating. The arm was stuck in a cast so it could heal properly, but to someone who had no idea of human medical science, the cast was like a straightjacket... for her arm. She had tried to wriggle it off, but after a few shots of pain in her broken arm she had quickly abandoned that plan.
The cell door opened and Karina saw the captain walk in and stopping in front of her.
"So how are we doing today?" he asked. "How is the arm?"
