New word! POV = Point of View: used by the author to show that the story is being told from a new point of view for a brief moment.

I think I finally found the kitchen. It has a refrigerator, a microwave, an oven and plenty of counter space. My eyes caught sight of a glass jar on the counter. On the front of the object were the words "Cookie Jar". I opened the jar, wondering what a cookie was. I reached my hand in and pulled out a round, flat, brown circle. It had several darker-brown balls in the circle. I assumed it was a cookie, and bit into it. It tasted delicious. Granted, I had never had to eat anything before, but this was amazing! I quickly took more and more bites out of the cookie, chewing and swallowing. By now I had finished the cookie, and was about to reach in for another one, when I heard a cough behind me. I quickly turned around, and saw Yang standing there, leaning against the wall, looking at me. "Y'know, Ruby will kill you for stealing her cookies." I'd like to see her try, was what I wanted to say. But I swallowed what remained in my mouth and said, "Oh, sorry." I closed the jar and put it back on the counter. Yang walked up to me, clearly suspicious of something. I didn't want her to know who I am. How would she react to knowing I let her mother die? "I was just hungry, but I'll go back to bed now." Yang eyed me up and down, and said, "Before you do, I just want to know something..." I gulped, ready for questioning. "Who are you?" "Y/N." She chuckled, "I know that, but I mean, what are the details? Where did you come from? How did you know my sister? Why are you dressed...like that?" She said, motioning to my robes. I guess they did stand out pretty clearly compared to the rest of the people in this house. "Look, I'm okay if you don't like talking about your past. I've had a LOT of friends like that. Just...you interest me." "Oh?" I said, clearly growing nervous. "All I know so far is that you suddenly appeared in the most dangerous part of the forest without any means of defending yourself. And since your ankle broke so easily, your aura must be incredibly weak, so you're clearly not trained for combat. So why were you there?" At this, I grew angry. "Hey, I can handle myself!" I said, sounding a bit like a little kid. She chuckled at this, and replied, "Alright, you can. But still, you're hiding something. Care to tell me what it is?" My mind started racing. She had stopped talking, and I needed to answer. Fast. My mind was racing with possible excuses, but none seemed to fit. She sighed, interrupting my thoughts, and said, "Well, I guess if you're not ready to tell me, that's okay. But since you're being so secretive about where you and Ruby have met, I have to say..." At this, she cracked her knuckles, and her eyes started turning red, her voice growing more serious. "Stay away from my sister. I mean it." I shuddered at this, clearly not wanting to get into a fight. After saying that, she walked away, leaving me to my racing thoughts.

Yang's pov

I walked out of the kitchen, trying to think about who he was. Clearly Y/N was odd, and he knew Ruby from somewhere, but...where? I walked back to my room, and on the way, I walked past an open door. It was his room. I only took a peek inside, not really looking, and I saw it. An intimidating-looking scythe leaning against the wall next to his bed. It looked kinda old-fashioned, like something used for farming. But it didn't have the extra handle that farmers use. It reminded me of Ruby and her weapon Crescent Rose. Who was this guy...?

Ruby's pov

I had an odd dream. It wasn't bad, just...odd. It was about Y/N, and...I don't remember much, but there was Mom, him, Yang and I...something happened. I hate it when I can't remember my own dreams. Sometimes they're important, and I don't remember them until after I needed them... Anyways, I woke up and saw my door was closed. Which was odd, considering I left it open the night before.
