I could rant on and on about this topic and it would never be enough.
As a black muslim that is not a convert, I have been faced with racism from a young age.
When I was in fifth grade, I had this project with two of my "friends". Long story short, I ended up doing most of the work while they whispered on the bed. I was going home with one of them and she said she would tell me what they said. At the tine, I wish she never told me, cuz she said that the other girl had told her, "I hate *insert my name* cuz she is black."
That was the first time my eyes really opened to racism. Fortunately before sixth grade started I was in Africa. I soon realized that so many people are racist and in our community here in a America, it's the Arabs which are a majoroty of the Muslim community in our area (very repetitive sentence but whatever).
Islamically, (I have to mention it) racism is not acceptable, at all. However, Arabs are full of themselves because they have Islam and Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was Arab , which is like?!?!?! It annoys the crap out of me!!
Okay that was totally biased but it still pisses me off...
Is it bad to say I am used to racism?
It has become such a casual thing. Whether it's people hating me for the scarf around my head or the color of my skin.
The world makes me sick. However, I can't just focus on the negatives. There are a lot of people who stand against racism, and if you are one of them I applaud you and you really do deserve the world.
